Accrington 3rds face new side Norden at Stag Park on Sunday April 14th in the first game of the 2019 season. The team will play twelve games in Phase 1 and a further two in Phase 2 which is scheduled to begin on August 17th. Fixtures

Thursday November 29th
The 2019 fixtures have been announced. Accrington begin life in the newly named Senior Division 1 with a trip to Rochdale on Easter Sunday 21st April. Accrington travel to Church on Sunday 9th June and host their local rivals on Saturday 24th August which is the only league double header. The season ends on Sunday 8th September with a trip to Crompton. The seconds fixtures are mirrored with the exception of games against Colne instead of Lowerhouse and Rishton instead of Church.

Jacob Clarke won the JW Lees Lancashire League Under 23 Bowling Award at the Annual Dinner at the Dunkenhalgh. Jacob, who shared the award with Littleborough's Ryan Miskella, is the first Accrington bowler to win the award since 1985 when Mark Aspin shared the award with Keith Roscoe.

Accrington have signed Karl Brown as professional for the 2019 season. [More]
The 2020 fixtures for 2019 have been announced. Accrington begin with a local derby at Enfield in the JWL Bitter Group on Friday May 31st. Next up is one of two home games with Nelson the visitors on Friday June 7th. Trips to Burnley (14th) and Lowerhouse (21st) follow with a final home game against Darwen on Friday June 28th to round off the group stages. The Quarter Finals are on Friday July 5th with the following Friday scheduled as the reserve date. Finals Day is pencilled in for Sunday July 28th. Full fixtures
Wednesday October 31st
Accrington have been drawn at Rishton in the 1st Round of the 2019 Worsley Cup. The match will be played on Saturday May 4th.
Accrington have a tough group in the 2020 competition being drawn with holders Burnley and former winners Lowerhouse and Enfield and current LKO holders Darwen and Nelson.
The 3rds have been drawn in Group A with
Clitheroe 4ths, Lowerhouse 4ths, Norden, Haslingden, Middleton and Todmorden.

The newly expanded JW Lees Lancashire League season draws to a close on Sunday with three clubs still fighting for the title. One of the contenders is the visitors to the Property Shop Arena, Ramsbottom, who took over the league leadership in mid May from Accrington before surrendering it to Walsden in early June. Graeme Sneddon returns for Accrington in place of Ben Ross. Rehan Udwadia comes in to the Ramsbottom team in place of Michael Howarth. Daryn Smit stands in as professional for his former club.
It's an early start on Saturday morning for Damian Clarke's 3rd XI who host Rishton. The match will begin at 11.30am due to the Singalong a Mamma Mia Event later in the day.

Keiren Grimshaw has been named Lancashire League Under 23 Player of the month for July. Keiren hit three successive half centuries in wins against Darwen, Nelson and Rishton during the month.
Accrington's 3rd XI match against Lowerhouse will be replayed on Saturday September 15th at the Property Shop Arena.

The penultimate round of Lancashire League fixtures on Sunday sees Accrington travel to Clitheroe. The outgoing champions are one of seven clubs fighting for the remaining five places in the top division in 2019. Accrington are one of seven clubs already assured of top division status. Lancashire's Karl Brown stands in as professional for Clitheroe in an otherwise unchanged team. Ramiz Hussain returns for Accrington in place of Graeme Sneddon.

Tuesday August 21st
The Bank Holiday Weekend is a vital double header for Accrington as the club looks to cement its place in the top half of the table. On Saturday Accrington travel to Bacup. Leicestershire's former Ramsbottom player Harry Dearden stands in as sub professional for Bacup. Matt Collinge replaces Matt Schofield in the Bacup team. Accrington name an unchanged team.
On Sunday Accrington take on Norden at The Property Shop Arena. The clubs have met twice previously. Accrington won when the clubs met in the Inter League Challenge Trophy at Stag Park in 2006 thanks to an unbeaten century by professional Nishit Shetty. Three years later Norden turned the tables when they won an LCB Cup encounter at Accrington without a professional. Accrington again name an unchanged team.
The thirds are back in action on Bank Holiday Monday when they travel to Lowerhouse in their opening Phase 2 encounter.

Friday August 17th
The final four weekends of the 2018 season begin with the first of two successive double headers. Unbeaten league leaders Walsden are the visitors on Saturday. Walsden have never beaten Accrington who are currently in seventh place in the table. The clubs played twice in the Inter League Challenge Trophy with Accrington winning both games home and away. Walsden field an unchanged full strength team. Accrington are also unchanged.
On Sunday Accrington entertain East Lancs who moved off the bottom of the table last Sunday after beating Rochdale. Accrington are unchanged.

Wednesday August 15th
Former Accrington 4th XI player Gary Stead has been named as New Zealand's new head coach on a two year contract. Gary played one match for Accrington's 4th team when his father David was professional at the club in 1981. Gary played in five Tests and has steered New Zealand's women to the World Cup Final and Canterbury to domestic titles in 2014, 2015 and 2017.

Accrington will travel to Lowerhouse on Bank Holiday Monday for their first game in the 3rd XI League Phase 2. Accrington will end the season with a home game against Rishton on Saturday September 8th. [Fixtures]

Accrington will not be re-signing Janith Liyanage as professional. Committee man James Hayhurst said: "We would like to place on record our appreciation of his efforts so far this season, and we know he is keen to do his best for the remaining matches. We wish him all the best for the future. " Liyanage has signed for Egerton for 2019.

Accrington and Milnrow meet for the first time on Sunday at Ladyhouse. Accrington will need to pick up points to maintain their place in the top half of the table with some tough games coming up in the final seven games of the season. Accrington will be looking for a fourth straight win to maintain their place in the top half of the table whilst third placed Lowerhouse will look to make up ground after their nine match winning run in the league ended when their match against Todmorden was rained off. Lowerhouse name an unchanged team with Leicestershire's Mark Cosgrove again standing in as professional. Accrington also name an unchanged team.

The fixtures from the opening day of the season which were cancelled will be replayed on Sunday August 19th apart from the Darwen v Enfield match which will be played on Saturday August 11th due to Darwen's LKO semi final at Ormskirk. The 2nd XI fixtures from the opening day will also be replayed on these dates.

Accrington visit Rishton on Saturday. Accrington have an amazing recent record against their local rivals, winning every time the clubs have met in the league since 2008 apart from in 2016 when Rishton won the match at Blackburn Road by 50 runs. Both clubs go in to the game in decent form. Accrington name an unchanged team. Rishton make four changes with stand-in skipper Brad Boddie, Kelly Mall, Mark Leathert and Luke Eddleston replacing Danny Curran, Sajid Patel, Josh Brown and Craig Smith.

Accrington entertain Nelson on Saturday. Tenth placed Nelson sit one place above Accrington in the league table with one more win but with just one more point. Accrington name the team that won at Darwen last Sunday. Nelson bring in Neil Thompson and Josef Whitlam, who makes his league debut, in place of Wasim Qureshi and Caleb Grant. Daryn Smit stands in as sub professional.

Accrington make one change with Graeme Sneddon replacing Riley Armstrong for Sunday's trip to Birch Hall to play Darwen. It will be Accrington's first visit in a Lancashire League match although the clubs met on a regular basis in the pre Lancashire League days. The 249th Lancashire League derby between Accrington and Church takes place at the Property Shop Arena on Saturday. Of the previous 248 Lancashire League meetings Accrington have won 86, Church have won 77 and 85 have been drawn. It was back in 1869 when Accrington and Church met for the first time at Peel Park. Andrew Greenwood returns for Accrington in place of Riley Armstrong. Nathaniel Young and Paddy McDonough are replaced by Jack Ellison and Francis Kinsella in the Church team.

Accrington visit Middleton for the first time in a Lancashire League match on Saturday. The clubs two previous meetings in the Inter League Challenge Trophy both went the way of Middleton, the first by virtue of a Bowl Out at Towncroft in 2000. Riley Armstrong replaces Andrew Greenwood in the Accrington team.
It's the final group games in this season's 2020 competition on Friday. Holders Clitheroe are the visitors needing to win to have a chance of staying in the competition.

Accrington take on an in-form Crompton side at Glebe Street on Sunday. Crompton's winning run that currently stands at five matches since beating Littleborough in the 1st Round of the Worsley Cup. Accrington's win over the same opposition last Saturday saw Ross Brown's men move back up the table to third. Crompton won the previous meeting between the clubs in the Inter League Challenge Trophy Quarter Final at Glebe Street by 13 runs in 1999. Sam Bancroft and Jimmy Hayhurst return for Accrington in place of Ben Ross and Riley Armstrong. Crompton pick their team on Saturday evening after their Worsley Cup game at Milnrow.

Accrington take on Littleborough at Thorneyholme Road on Saturday. The clubs two meetings in the Inter League Challenge Trophy both went the way of Littleborough by 10 and 6 wickets. The clubs also met in the pre league days with Accrington's last victory over Littleborough at Thorneyholme Road coming way back in 1881. Accrington go in to the match on the back of a first league defeat at Burnley that saw the club drop down from first to fifth in the table. Littleborough professional Thomas Kaber is in prime form having hit a maiden league century in his sides win over Todmorden last Sunday. Accrington give a senior debut to 16 year-old wicketkeeper Ben Ross who comes in for Sam Bancroft. Graeme Sneddon also returns in place of Jimmy Hayhurst.

The two clubs have met fifteen times in the Worsley Cup with five wins for Accrington and ten wins for Burnley. Veteran Matt Wilson and youngster Riley Armstrong replace Andrew Greenwood and Joe Lloyd in the Accrington team. Burnley field an unchanged team.

Accrington are one of four clubs who have gained maximum points from the first two league matches. The clubs have met 248 times in the Lancashire League with 91 wins apiece, 65 draws and one tie. Accrington will select their team after the match on Saturday night. After a false start last weekend the new season is due to begin this weekend weather permitting. Accrington travel to Colne with new skipper Ross Brown and new professional Janith Liyanage. New signing Alec Jakeman makes his Lancashire League debut in an Accrington side that also includes Joe Lloyd and Ramiz Hussain. Matt Walker begins his sixth season in charge for Colne who include new professional James Price, Johnathan Nation and new signing from Burnley Jhangir Liaqat.

Accrington made 32-2 against Walsden in a hastily arranged friendly at Thorneyholme Road before the match was rained off. A minutes silence for Ted Marshall was held before the start.

All of this weekend's matches have been called off by the Lancashire League Executive. The 3rd team fixtures will be moved en-bloc to 22nd July. The question of when or whether to set aside new dates for the 1st and 2nd team fixtures will be discussed at the League Meeting on 25th April. Saturday's friendly at Morecambe is also off.

The club's oldest member Ted Marshall has passed away today at the age of 103. The club will hold a minute's silence before Sunday's game against East Lancs.
Accrington will now travel to Morecambe on Saturday for a friendly after both clubs original games were cancelled.

The 2018 season is due to begin at the weekend. Accrington travel to Longridge on Saturday for a friendly. New skipper Ross Brown leads the side for the first time. New professional Janith Liyanage makes his debut for the club. The JW Lees Lancashire League begins on Sunday with seven new teams joining the existing 17 clubs. The clubs will play each other once with the league splitting into two divisions for the 2019 season. The Duckworth Lewis Stern method has been adopted to determine the results of rain affected matches. Accrington entertain East Lancs. New signing Alec Jakeman makes his Lancashire League debut in an Accrington side that also includes Joe Lloyd and Ramiz Hussain. East Lancs include new signings wicketkeeper Harry Caton, off spinning all rounder Waqar Rafique and Joe Bolton.

The transfer of all rounder Alec Jakeman from Horsforth to Accrington was confirmed at tonight's JW Lees Lancashire League Meeting.

Accrington will travel to Penrith on Saturday April 7th on the first leg of a two day tour of Cumbria which will conclude on Sunday April 8th with a game at Netherfield. Accrington 2nds match against Longridge on Saturday April 14th has been cancelled.

Accrington have added a friendly at Longridge on Saturday 14th April. The seconds will host Longridge seconds on the same day and Radcliffe on Sunday 8th April.
