Accrington were knocked of the LCB Cup by Norden in a rain reduced game. The visitors reached a revised target of 155 with 4 wickets in hand after 2 overs were lost to rain. Skipper Dexter Fitton saw Norden to victory after a mid innings collapse had let Accrington back into the match. Hashum Malik (45) and Paul Morrell (17) put on 65 for the first wicket but Paul Carroll (2-22) and Jimmy Hayhurst (2-21) picked up a couple of wickets each to reduce Norden to 92-5. Fitton hit an unbeaten 33 with Phil Collinson on 12 when Norden reached their target.

A 5th wicket stand of 92 between Graham Lloyd and Simon Hanson formed the backbone of Accrington's 162 all out after the home side had been struggling at 44-4. Harvey Fitton accounted for Carroll (11) then Malik (2-36) removed Hayhurst (10) and Stuart Crabtree (6). Overseas amateur Zane Arthur had Accrington professional Roy Silva caught by Oliver Makin for 1 to bring Lloyd and Hanson together. Lloyd faced 63 balls in making 47, hitting five fours and a six before holing out to Paul Morrell off the gentle leg spin of Collinson. Makin removed James Ormerod (9) and Andy Greenwood in successive balls and then Collinson picked up Toc Hussain via an inside edge. Hanson's 75 ball knock ended when Makin took a spectacular diving catch at mid wicket to send back the youngster for 34 which included two boundaries. Collinson bagged his 4th wicket when last man Damian Clarke was adjudged lbw to give the leg spinner the flattering figures of 4-18.
