On Sunday, Accrington entertain new Inter League Challenge Trophy winners East Lancs in the last home match of the season. Accrington professional Nishit Shetty looks to have lost the chance to challenge the club batting record after a poor weekend, but the Indian still leads Church professional Ruvin Peiris by 12 runs in the race to be leading run scorer. There has been much speculation recently about Nishit Shetty challenging Bobby Simpson's club record total of 1444 runs set in 1959. The Australian finished the season with 409 runs from his last five innings with scores of 72 not out, 109 not out, 92 not out, 53 and 83, so anything is possible if Shetty ends the season as he began, who knows what he can achieve?
