A documentary on David Lloyd will be shown on Sunday night on Sky Sports 1 at 6.30pm and again at 9pm featuring interviews with club stalwarts Peter Westwell, Russ Cuddihy, Terry Neville and Alan Worsick.
Wednesday September 10th
Sunday sees Accrington play their final match of the 2014 season when they entertain Haslingden. Both clubs have a chance of finishing in fourth place, a position currently occupied by Church after Haslingden's loss of a point for bowling their overs too slowly last Sunday against Todmorden. Haslingden professional Brenton Parchment will play his final game for the club after two seasons at Bentgate whilst Accrington professional Ockert Erasmus needs 28 runs from his final innings of the season to reach 1,000 runs. A win for Accrington could see them change places with Haslingden as they did with victory at Bentgate last month. Haslingden call on the experience of Lee Ingham and Anthony Harris to replace youngsters Lawrence Adlum and Alex Jeffrey in their quest for fourth place whilst Accrington are unchanged. Thursday September 4th
Accrington play their final way game of 2014 on Sunday when they visit new champions Lowerhouse. After the match Lowerhouse will receive the Lancashire League Championship trophy for the third time in the last four season. Accrington will be looking to end Lowerhouse's 18 match winning run to cement their claim for fourth place. Former professional Francois Haasbroek, who has been coaching in London, returns as sub professional to face his fellow countryman Ockert Erasmus who needs another 40 runs to reach 1,000 for the season. Joe Lloyd makes his senior debut for Accrington in place of Liam Smalley. Lowerhouse also hand a youngster a debut with Jamie Woodall replacing the suspended Paddy Martin who begins a four match ban with two games suspended for 2015. The Bumble is Back. Accrington play their penultimate home match of the season on Sunday when bottom club Bacup are the visitors. Accrington professional Ockert Erasmus needs 135 runs from three possible innings to become the thirteenth player to score 1,000 runs in a season for the club. The last scheduled double header weekend of the season sees Accrington visit Haslingden on Saturday with current league leaders Lowerhouse the visitors on Sunday. The Thirds are in action on Monday in a local derby against Church at Thorneyholme Road.

Sunday sees Accrington travel to Nelson as the season enters it's final phase. Accrington have three home and three away games left to play with league leaders Lowerhouse and Haslingden both left to play twice. The other game is a home match against Bacup. Accrington name an unchanged team for the trip to Seedhill. Syed Shah replaces Russell Bradley in the Nelson team. Professional Ryan Canning will keep wicket. Tyler McGladdery has been in great form this week for Lancashire Under 17s, hitting 93 in the win against Yorkshire in the two day Under17s County Championship and 53 against the same opposition in the Under 17s One Day County Championship. Marley Ali scored 156 not out today for 2nd XI at Rawtenstall, which is the record individual score for 2nd XI beating Mark Demaine's 136 set in 1989. He made it off 106 balls with 17 fours and 8 sixes as Accrington chased down 266 with more than 8 overs to spare. 15 year old Joe Lloyd also recorded career best bowling figures of 7-45.

The club is saddened to hear of the passing of long time supporter and member John Berry at the age of 67. John, who lived in Longridge, passed away after a long illness.
Thursday May 22nd
League leaders Accrington visit in-form Ramsbottom on Sunday. Ramsbottom have won four times since losing at Accrington on the opening day. Since then Simon Read has returned and new signing Callum Kay has arrived to strengthen the team. Both clubs have won four and lost one with Accrington's bonus points tally of 11 nailing down top spot. It's the start of a run of three difficult away games for the champions with visits to Church and Enfield next up. After a rain interrupted weekend, Accrington resume the defence of their Lancashire League title on Saturday with a trip to Bacup. The game will be Accrington's last at home until June 8th apart from the Worsley Cup 1st Round match against Lowerhouse on May 18th. The second weekend of the season sees a league double header with East Lancs the visitors on Saturday followed by a trip to Burnley on Sunday.
Stuart Crabtree's men recovered well from Friday's mauling at Church to register impressive wins over Burnley and Ramsbottom last weekend. New professional Ockert Erasmus faces his former club who will have his fellow South African Matthew Kleinveldt in the side after an impressive debut in last Sunday's win at Nelson. Accrington name an unchanged team whilst East Lancs give a belated debut to former Accrington junior the ex Enfield and Edenfield paceman Shahrukh Khan following paperwork issues last week. Lancashire League champions Accrington kick off the 2014 season with an Easter triple header.
First up is the LCB Cup 1st Round tie at Church on Good Friday. New Accrington skipper Stuart Crabtree welcomes the club's new professional Ockert Erasmus to the side. Graham Lloyd, David Ormerod and Marley Ali are unavailable for Accrington, so Liam Smalley and Andy Greenwood get an early opportunity to stake a claim for a place. Church are without wicketkeeper Sam Tucker and Phill Gilrane so Josh Scully comes in along with the Gaskill brothers Joel and Jack.
On Easter Saturday Accrington entertain Worsley Cup winners Burnley in the Ron Singleton Colne Trophy. Holders Accrington add David Ormerod and Bryn Hargreaves to the squad with Liam Smalley dropping out. Burnley are without the injured Cole Hayman. David Brown plays along with promising paceman Tom Lawson and new professional Chris Holt. During the match there will be a collection for Colne's Save Our Ground Appeal. The proceeds from the match day raffle will also be donated to them as well as proceeds from a football card the club will be doing during thE evening's 'Meet the Pro' Night.
Ramsbottom are the visitors on Easter Sunday with a new skipper and new professional. New captain Rob Read leads a team that contains just six players from the side that played at Thorneyholme Road in the penultimate game of last season. The club's new professional is South African all rounder Daryn Smit. Only Read, Tom Parton, Jon Fielding, Matt Sutton, Jamie Pilling and Dale Gabriel remain from last September with new signing Jack McGregor and old campaigner Michael Haslam missing. New Accrington professional Ockert Erasmus took a career best 7-62 to bowl his side Boland to a nail biting 9 run win over South Western Districts in the CSA Provincial Three Day Competition.
Wednesday February 12th
There will be an EGM of the Club on Monday 24th February at 7.30pm in the Clubhouse. The main purpose of the meeting will be to elect a new Chairman and Secretary of the Management Committee as both positions are currently vacant. At the recent AGM Alven Burrows and Phil Hodson stood down from their respective roles as Chairman and Secretary due to work and other commitments. The Club would like to thank both Alven and Phil for all their hard work during their time on the Management Committee.

Wednesday January 29th
Accrington will start the 2014 season with three new captains at the helm. As already announced last year's 1st XI vice-captain Stuart Crabtree will replace Graham Lloyd, who has been appointed to the First Class Umpires list for the coming season. Simon Hanson will be vice-captain.
Jonny Hayhurst takes over from Scott Hudson as 2nd XI captain and Matt Donnelly takes charge of the 3rd XI in place of Ian Johnson. Both Scott and Ian are unlikely to be available for all games this season due to work and other commitments and have therefore stepped down as skipper.
Everyone at the club would like to thank Graham, Scott and Ian for all their hard work in leading the teams over the last few years and we wish all the new captains every success for the coming season.
