Malcolm Taylor (22) added 69 with Stevenson before becoming Lal’s first victim. Trevor Hatch fell in identical fashion 7 runs later and then Stevenson’s fine knock ended in the 32nd over at 141 when he was bowled by Stanley after hitting six fours and three sixes from  126 balls. Andy Gardener (5) and Paul Barratt (5) fell in the quest for quick runs as the overs ran out. Former Accrington opener Graham Beech opened with Andy Barker against Aspin and Lloyd. Barker was first to go, being run out for 9 with the score on 44 in the 12th over. Beech and Lal then put on 49 before Beech fell to Stevenson for 48 from 108 balls.
