Accrington got back to winning ways after two successive defeats with a comprehensive 113 run win at Ramsbottom. David Lloyd made his first half century as Accrington professional, top scoring with 52 from 122 balls and skipper Alan Worsick (5-13) and Mark Aspin (5-25) shared the bowling honours with five wickets apiece. Steve Monkhouse struck early to send back Peter West and Billy Rawstron both caught by professional Murray Bennett for 4. Mark Aspin passed 1,000 Lancashire League runs in making 32 in a 3rd wicket stand of 65 with Lloyd and then Trevor Hatch added 33 with his professional before Lloyd fell at 112 in the 27th over.  Neil Jones (13) put on 48 with Hatch who was run out on 49 made from 50 balls. Accrington closed on 168-7 with Monkhouse taking 3-53 and Bennett 2-52. Aspin and skipper Alan Worsick then ran through the home side who were rolled over for just 55. Aspin sent back Ian Bell (14) at 18 and Alan Massicks (3) at 24 with Worsick removing Bennett at the same score,  John Ramsbottom at 30 and John Ashworth at 35. Opener Mick Rogers (11) finally fell to Aspin at the same total after facing 40 balls and when Worsick had Mick Everett caught by Hatch and Aspin accounted for Steve Ratcliffe,  Ramsbottom were in dire straits at 35-8. Paul Marcroft (1) also fell to Aspin and when Monkhouse fell to Worsick for 13 Ramsbottom were all out for 55. At one stage Worsick took 4-2 off 6 overs after coming off after bowling the opening over of the innings. After the match Lloyd re-signed for the 1985 season.Scorecard
