Accrington professional Roy Silva hit his maiden Lancashire League century to help his side compile a season's best 278-4 at Rishton as the leaders notched a 147 run win over the champions to stay 20 points clear at the top. The Sri Lankan hit ten fours and five sixes in his 90 ball knock of 108. He put on 80 for the 3rd wicket with opener Matt Wilson, who hit four fours and a six in making 45. Graham Lloyd then joined his professional to add 89 for the 4th wicket until Silva was stumped by Tiarnan Hamill of Saeed Anwar with the score on 194. Toby Bulcock made welcome return to form with an unbeaten 34 including two sixes as he added an unbroken 84 with Lloyd who finished unbeaten on 65 from 64 balls with five fours and a six. Lloyd's fourth half century of the campaign also took him passed 500 runs for the season for the first time for his home town club during his innings. Zahir Afzal's dismissal of home professional Anwar for 23 with the score on 48 effectively ended any faint hopes Rishton may have had of winning the match. Accrington's spinning trio of Paul Carroll (4-25), Toby Bulcock (3-29) and Damian Clarke (1-9) sent back the home sides batsmen without much resistance apart from veteran Craig Smith (31) and Darrell Thomas, who was unbeaten on 31 as the last 2 wickets took the score from 78-8 to 131 all out
