Former Accrington captain Stuart Crabtree has joined Ribblesdale League side Whalley.
Wednesday November 30th
Accrington will begin their 20/20 campaign with a home match against Ramsbottom on Friday June 2nd. There will be a Finals Day for the first time on Saturday July 29th. This means the Lancashire League fixtures for that day will now be played on Saturday May 6th. [Fixtures]

Friday November 4th
Keiren Grimshaw picked up the Lancashire League Under 23 Batting Award at tonight's Lancashire League Dinner at the Fence Gate Inn for scoring 506 runs at 24.1 during the 2016 season.
Wenesday October 26th
Accrington will entertain Worsley Cup holders Burnley in the 1st Round of the 2017 competition. Ties will be played on Sunday May 7th.
Accrington have been drawn with East Lancs, Ramsbottom, Lowerhouse,
Darwen and
Todmorden in the 2020 competition.

The club is saddened to learn for the passing of long time supporter Derek Barnes last Monday at the age of 86. Derek's funeral will be held on Thursday October 20th at 11am at Accrington Crematorium. Family flowers only please with donations if desired to Derian House or Accrington Cricket Club.
Wednesday September 28th
Accrington have appointed Simon Hanson as captain for the 2017 season. Simon said: "I'm pleased to have been appointed captain. I'm looking forward to rebuilding the team and having a good season next year."

The Under 15s have finally been confirmed as champions of Division 3. The team won six of their ten games losing just once.
Thursday September 8th
The club bids farewell to Ockert Erasmus who has been professional for the last three seasons. Ocki, who will be moving to Lowerhouse in 2017, plays has last match for Accrington against his previous club East Lancs at Thorneyholme Road on Sunday. The penultimate weekend of the 2016 season sees Accrington travel to Colne on Sunday to play the reverse of the opening day fixture. A win for Accrington would boost the club's chances of top ten finish with Colne the team directly above Ockert Erasmus' men just 1 point ahead. Accrington name an unchanged team. The final double header weekend of the 2016 season sees a double dose of local derby action. Accrington take on their neighbours Enfield and Church in an action packed Bank Holiday weekend.
Saturday sees Accrington travel to Dill Hall Lane to take on Enfield. The home side are without in-form bowlers Ben Dowling and Simon O'Loughlin along with wicketkeeper Liam Bedford who are replaced by Lewis Garratty, Jack Cook and Jacob Johnson. The bad news is that Alviro Petersen will stand in as sub professional for his former club. Accrington make a couple of changes. David Ormerod and Toc Hussain replace Joe Lloyd and Matt Wilson. The double headers return as we go into the last four weekends of the 2016 season. Accrington face the two title contenders this weekend. On Saturday Accrington travel to play defending champions Burnley who are in second place 2 points behind the leaders. Burnley are currently unbeaten in 22 matches. Burnley make four changes with Jon Clare, Michael Kelly, Cole Hayman and Michael Midwood being replaced by Qasim Shah, Matt Thornton, Josh Broadhurst, and Ali Syed Senior. The Lancashire League fixtures that were originally scheduled for Sunday August 21st but were changed to Saturday September 3rd due to Burnley's involvement in the LCB Cup semi final have now reverted back to the original date with the exception of the Haslingden Burnley match. Should Burnley progress to the LKO Final, their match with Todmorden will be played on Saturday 10th September. Second team fixtures are unaffected.
Thursday August 4th
Accrington look to continue their climb up the league table when they take on bottom side Bacup at Thorneyholme Road on Saturday. Led by new skipper professional Ockert Erasmus, Accrington climbed two places last Sunday when they beat Haslingden. Victory against Bacup could see the home side reach a season's high ninth place in the table. Bacup left Nelson pointless last Sunday after losing in the last over after hitting 17-8 in their innings. Dominic Boardman replaces Matt Thompson in the Bacup team. Accrington entertain local rivals Rishton on Sunday looking to avenge their defeat at Rishton two months ago. That loss broke a sequence of sixteen successive Lancashire League wins over their neighbours stretching back to the championship winning season of 2008. Accrington make two changes with Andrew Greenwood and David Ormerod replacing Ali Hasham and Joe Lloyd. Friday sees the penultimate 2020 Group games with Accrington hosting Blond Witch Group leaders Church who have won all of their four matches to date. This will be the third meeting of the local rivals this season in league and cup with both clubs have won one match each. Matt Wilson fills in behind the wickets for Accrington. Raheem Kasser makes his senior debut as a late change in place of Joe Lloyd.

The 2020 returns on Friday with an extended competition. This season the top four in each group go forward to a quarter final and pink balls will be used for the first time. The groups have been redrawn and Accrington are again in the Blond Witch Group along with Friday's opening night opponents Nelson, Rishton, Bacup,
Lowerhouse, Church and Todmorden. Accrington include David Ormerod for the first time since 2012. Nelson include Wasim Qureshi, Matthew Heap, Chris Heap and Lewis Hillman. Professional Ryan Bailey leads the side in the absence of Neil Thompson.

Accrington begin a weekend in Rishton with a 3rd XI game on Saturday.
On Sunday the 1st XI defend their record run of sixteen consecutive Lancashire League wins dating back to the championship winning season of 2008. For the first time since then Rishton go into the match as favourites. Matt Lambert's men sit six places higher and are 20 points better off than Accrington. Rishton professional Shaun von Berg has been in outstanding form to date with 227 runs and 26 wickets to help his side to seventh place in the league and also to progress in to the 2nd round of the Worsley Cup. Church will be without professional Zain Abbas who has been recalled for a training camp ahead of Pakistan's full and A tours later in the summer. Last year's paid man Usman Tariq stands in on Sunday.

Another double header weekend sees Accrington in home league action on Saturday followed by a juicy Worsley Cup tie on Sunday against local rivals Church.
Second placed Nelson are the visitors on Saturday. Neil Thompson's side are unbeaten since the opening day inspite of not having a regular professional in place. Nelson hope to have professional Ryan Bailey in the side following his projected arrival on Friday. The club name the same amateur line up that tied with Lowerhouse last Sunday. Saturday April 16th
Accrington's friendly with Lostock was abandoned due to rain, sleet and snow in no particular order. Accrington declared on 214-6 after snow forced the players from the field for a second time. Skipper Graeme Sneddon made 47, Keiren Grimshaw 40, Jacob Clarke 36 and professional Ockert Erasmus 34. Lostock replied with 136-8 from 25 overs when the match was abandoned. Simon Hanson took 2-6, Erasmus 2-0 and Raheem Kasser 2-28.

Accrington begin the 2016 season by welcoming Colne to Thorneyholme Road on Sunday. Ockert Erasmus begins his third season as professional at Accrington on the back of some impressive performances with both bat and ball last season. Graeme Sneddon again leads the side having assumed the captaincy mid way through last season. Simon Hanson has returned from Lostock and plays on Sunday. Matt Wilson has retired so Alfie Taylor takes the wicketkeeping gloves. The only absentee on Sunday is David Ormerod who is unavailable. The visitors have a new professional in South African Yaseen Vallie who is due to arrive in this country on Friday. Matt Walker again leads the side with the assistance of new joint vice captains Sam Tillotson and Andy Hakin.
