League leaders Accrington crept to a 2 wicket win at the Horsfield over bottom side Colne to stay 11 points ahead of Rawtenstall. Sub professional Duncan Arnolda top scored with 65, made from 78 balls with eight fours and two sixes, in Colne's 171 all out. Chris Holt also made 28. Accrington skipper David Ormerod picked up 7-44, his best figures for the club. The visitors again lost early wickets but Graeme Sneddon again showed his liking for the Colne attack by hitting a vital 46, including four fours. He added 40 for the 4th wicket with professional Roy Silva (23) and 45 for the 5th wicket with Graham Lloyd, who passed 700 runs for the season in making a very sketchy 11 before being run out. Toby Bulcock also hit 22 and there were an amazing 50 extras, including 33 wides as Accrington won for the 15th time.
