Nelson hammered league leaders Accrington for the second time this season taking 12 points in a 7 wicket win. Professional Craig McMillan was the man of the moment taking 7 wickets and following up with a half century to deny Accrington any points from the two sides meetings this season. Sean Lemon hit an unbeaten 69 from 92 balls, adding 101 for the 3rd wicket with McMillan who hit six sixes and one four in his innings of 60. Home skipper David Ormerod (2-37) picked up his 50th wicket of the season when he removed Khurram Nazir and he later had McMillan well held by Zahir Afzal. Graham Lloyd top scored with 47 in Accrington's 172 all out. Lloyd hit three fours and a six, adding 39 for the 3rd wicket with professional Roy Silva (27) and 55 for the 4th wicket with Toby Bulcock, who made 33. Opener Paul Carroll hit his highest score for Accrington, making 33 from 39 balls with two fours and two sixes in an opening stand of 41 with Matt Wilson (8) before becoming the first of McMillan's seven victims. The New Zealander picked up 7-84, including his 50th wicket of the season, from 21 overs in a match reduced to 43 overs a-side. Rawtenstall's victory over Ramsbottom narrowed the gap at the top to 11 points with 8 games remaining.
