The final weekend of the 2019 season sees Accrington travel to Crompton on Sunday. The last match Accrington won was against Crompton on June 30th at The Property Shop Arena. Aaron Lilley stands in as sub professional for Crompton in an otherwise unchanged team. Accrington skipper Ross Brown returns along with Meeran Shah in place of Tom Walker and Graham Lloyd. Thursday August 29th
Nothing less than victory over last season's champions Walsden at The Property Shop Arena on Sunday will see Accrington avoid being the first club to be relegated to Division 2. Accrington call up Graham Lloyd for his first game in five years in a bid to rekindle some of the old magic formula. Meeran Zia is the player to make way. Walsden welcome back Jamie Shackleton and Oliver Whitehead who replace Paul Marrow and Kristian Halstead.

Thursday August 22nd
A big weekend lies ahead for Accrington with the club bidding to avoid relegation to Division 2 for the first time. On Saturday Accrington host fellow strugglers and local rivals Church with both sides on 77 points at the bottom of the table. It's a must win game for Accrington who face title challengers Burnley on Sunday and Walsden the following Sunday. So 150 years on from the clubs first recorded meeting in 1869 the sides go head to head in the most important game for both sides in recent seasons. Matches now start at 12.30 until the end of the season. Accrington are without skipper Ross Brown who is replaced by Jon Hayhurst for both games. Jacob Clarke leads the side. Josh Dentith replaces Waqas Ahmed in the Church team. Burnley pick from twelve adding Cole Hayman to Saturday's team. Neels Bergh stands in as sub professional. This weeks looking back feature sees a double header from 1989 against both Church and Burnley. The 2009 feature sees the title winning run gather momentum with a win over Ramsbottom and a No result at Church.

Accrington visit LCFKO Cup finalists Norden on Saturday. Fifth placed Norden lost to Todmorden last Saturday but enjoyed a great win at Netherfield in the LCFKO Cup on Sunday whilst Accrington were beaten by Norden's opponents in the final, Darwen, to drop in to the relegation zone for the first time. Accrington have won just twice, against bottom club Church and fellow strugglers Crompton, since back to back wins over Lowerhouse and Darwen in mid May. Norden make three changes with Jamie Jackson, Ross and Jason Collin replacing Sami Waheed, Joe Humphreys and Jack Harrison. Accrington make six changes with Tom Pettini, Keiren Grimshaw, Jacob Clarke, Graeme Sneddon and Jon and Jimmy Hayhurst replacing Matt Wilson, Richard Williams, Toby Uttley-Muldoon, Riley Armstrong, Ben Makin and Meeran Shah.

Darwen have won their only previous Lancashire League visit to Accrington in 2017 whilst Accrington have won both their previous league visits to Darwen. Accrington make five changes. A couple of old friends line up in the Ramsbottom team to play at Accrington on Sunday. Former professional Ashar Zaidi stands in as sub professional alongside former Accrington captain Simon Hanson in the Ramsbottom team. The visitors are currently in fifth place with seven wins whilst Accrington are ninth with five wins from thirteen games. Accrington skipper Ross Brown and wicketkeeper Sam Bancroft return in place of Tom Pettini and Tom Walker. Ramsbottom bring in Michael Howarth and Owen Collinge in place of Alex Olpin and Rehan Udwadia.

Accrington sit in eighth place four points and one place above Clitheroe who have four wins against Accrington's five. Saturday's game at Walsden has been brought forward from Sunday with the league champions in LCFKO Cup action. Sixteen year-old Ben Makin makes his senior debut for Accrington who also bring in another sixteen year-old Tom Walker for only his second senior game in place of Tom Pettini and David Ormerod. Tuesday June 11th
Accrington's Keiren Grimshaw has won the April/May Under 23 Player Of the Month Award. Keiren had an outstanding start to the season hitting 358 runs including four half centuries. Keiren also took a career best 5-48 in Accrington's win over Clitheroe.

Wednesday June 5th
2020 action returns to the Property Shop Arena on Friday with Nelson the visitors. Local duo Ryan Baxter provide the post match entertainment. Riley Armstrong replaces Bailey Chamberlain in the Accrington team. Nelson are captained by Khurram Nazir in the absence of Neil Thompson and Caleb Grant. Accrington go to Church on Sunday. The clubs have been local rivals since their first meeting 150 years ago back in 1869. Accrington go in to the game in seventh place with three wins and four defeats whilst Church have two wins and five defeats to lie in next to bottom spot. The meeting will be the 250th in the Lancashire League between the clubs. Accrington have 86 wins, Church have 78 wins and there have been 85 draws. Church are 4-3 ahead on meetings during the last five seasons. David Ormerod will make his first appearance of the season for Accrington in place of Meeran Zia. Church make two changes from the team that is due to play Todmorden on Saturday with Jack Ellison and Nathaniel Young replacing Josh Dentith and Waqas Ahmed.

Accrington's game at Walsden has been switched to Saturday June 22nd due to Walsden's LCFKO Cup tie at Bradshaw the following day.

Monday May 27th
Accrington face a hectic start to the weekend with a visit to Enfield on Friday in the opening JWL Bitter 2020 Group game and a trip to Todmorden in a league game on Saturday. Enfield include Joe Wrigley and Alfie Cook. Accrington include Rick Williams, Bailey Chamberlain and Tom Walker. Todmorden have had the better of the previous 236 league encounters, winning 90 and losing 80. A total of 66 of the games have been drawn. Accrington hold the upper hand over the last five seasons with four wins to Todmorden's three. Accrington go in to the weekend after back to back defeats in Cup and league last weekend whilst next to bottom Todmorden beat Rochdale on Sunday. Todmorden make one change replacing Hamza Ali with Kai Abbas. Meeran Sha Zia returns for Accrington in place of Riley Armstrong.

Wednesday May 22nd
A double header weekend begins on Saturday with Accrington hosting Burnley in the Worsley Cup for the third season running. The two clubs have met sixteen times in the Worsley Cup with five wins for Accrington and eleven wins for Burnley. Accrington ended Burnley's record breaking five year unbeaten run in 2017 but Burnley gained revenge 12 months later with a 64 run victory. Tom Pettini replaces Meeran Shah in the Accrington team. Karl Brown resumes as professional. Mark Cosgrove stands in as sub professional for Burnley who also bring in Steve Brunt and Matt Thornton in place of Cole Hayman and Joe McCluskie. On Sunday Accrington welcome an in-form Norden team to The Property Shop Arena. Norden are currently in second place after wins over Lowerhouse, Todmorden and Darwen in the league. Last Sunday Hashum Malik's men beat leaders Ramsbottom in the LCFKO Cup. Accrington are in fourth place after wins over Clitheroe, Lowerhouse and Darwen. Riley Armstrong replaces Tom Walker in the Accrington team whilst Norden announce their team after Saturday's game.

A treble header Bank Holiday Weekend begins with a Worsley Cup tie at Rishton on Saturday. The two clubs have met 23 times in the Worsley Cup with twelve wins for Accrington and eleven wins for Rishton. Accrington professional Karl Brown is unavailable so Derbyshire seamer Tony Palladino comes in as sub professional. Riley Armstrong also replaces Tom Pettini. Sam Kingsman-Ali will make is debut for Rishton in place of Mark Leathert.

Thursday April 18th
The JW Lees Lancashire League season starts on Sunday with Accrington travelling to Rochdale for a Division 1 clash. There are now two divisions of twelve clubs playing each other home and away. The bottom two in Division 1 at the end of the season will be replaced by the top two clubs in Division 2 for the 2020 season. Accrington include new professional Karl Brown who has over 200 runs to his name already in friendly wins at Longridge and Colwyn Bay. New signings Tom Pettini and Shah Meeran Zia will also make their league debuts for the club. The clubs meet for the first time at Redbrook. Last season Rochdale ran out winners by 97 runs at the Property Shop Arena in the clubs first meeting since 1883. With Ed Moore still in South Africa Rochdale have acquired the services of Leicestershire's South African all rounder Neil Dexter. Jamie Bohannon who has joined the club makes his debut, whilst promising all rounder, 17 years old Miohid ul Haq, makes his Lancashire League debut.

The thirds begin their season on Saturday with a home game against Todmorden.

Saturday April 13th
Karl Brown hit a century in Accrington's win at Colwyn Bay. Karl hit ten fours and six sixes before retiring on 102, his second 50 taking just 27 balls. Skipper Ross Brown hit 30, Keiren Grimshaw 26 and Jimmy Hayhurst an unbeaten 38 in Accrington's 245-7 from 45 overs. Karl then took 3-9, Ross Brown 3-28, Jimmy Hayhurst 2-27 and Jacob Clarke 2-34 to dismiss the home side for 199.

Friday April 12th
Sunday's 3rd team game at Norden has been postponed until later in the season.

Saturday April 6th
Accrington's new professional Karl Brown hit an unbeaten 99 to help his side to victory in a friendly at Longridge. Karl hit nine fours and four sixes in his innings. New opening batsman Shah Meeran Zia also made 31 in Accrington's 172-4 from 40 overs. Karl then took 2-22, Raheem Kasser 2-31 and Tom Walker 2-33 in Longridge's reply of 147-9.

The AGM will be held on Monday 18th February from 7.30pm in the clubhouse. Any nominations for Officers and Committee Members must be received by the Secretary at least five days prior to the Meeting.

Monday January 14th
Accrington will travel to Longridge for a pre-season friendly on Saturday April 6th. The match will be 40 overs a-side. 12 noon meet at Longridge.

Sunday January 13th
Ross Brown will again captain Accrington's first team and Len Dewhurst will continue to lead the seconds in the 2019 season.

Accrington will travel to Colwyn Bay on Saturday April 13th for a pre-season friendly.
