Second placed Accrington ended a 15 year hoodoo by beating Lowerhouse at Thorneyholme Road for the first time since 1994. Graham Lloyd top scored with 78 in Accrington's 189-7 in a match reduced by rain to 41 overs a-side. Lloyd hit eight fours and three sixes from 93 balls, passing 700 runs for the season during his innings. Stuart Crabtree made 19, professional Roy Silva 20 and Graeme Sneddon an unbeaten 43. The left hander hit four fours and two sixes, facing 47 balls and passing 400 runs for the season for the first time in the process. Joe Hawke picked up 5-33, his second five wicket haul of the season for the visitors. Skipper David Ormerod removed Ben Heap (2) at 3 but sub professional Carl Sandri (38) and Hawke (36) added 59 until Paul Carroll (3-36) dismissed them both. Chris Bleazard made 21 but 79-2 became 111 all out as the visitors collapsed to give Accrington an historic victory. Skipper Ormerod took 4-35, taking him to 60 wickets for the season.
