Accrington v Rishton
Graeme Sneddon hit a career best unbeaten 69 to help champions Accrington beat 2007 champions Rishton by 3 wickets at Thorneyholme Road. The 21 year-old hit ten fours in a 124 ball innings, adding 42 for the 4th wicket with Graham Lloyd (33), 37 for the 5th wicket with Matt Wilson (17) and 66 for the 7th wicket with James Ormerod (19). Sub professional Will Driver made an impressive 27 at the top of the order but Barry Hamilton removed him and Stuart Crabtree in successive balls to put Rishton back in the match. Skipper David Ormerod had earlier taken 7-78 in Rishton's innings of 208. Half centuries by Craig Smith, who hit 56 in 80 balls with five fours and a six, and Sam Hacking, who blasted 57 from 45 balls with six sixes and three fours, had been the main feature of the visitors innings. Skipper Andy Bartley also hit 29 and John Seedle 22 for Rishton. |
