Thursday December 17th
The club is saddened to learn of the passing of long standing member John Burnyeat. Former Committee Man John passed away on Monday December 7th after a short illness. Deepest condolences to John's family.

Graeme Sneddon and Rick Williams have been re-appointed as first and second team captain respectively. [More]

Tuesday November 17th
New club Greenmount will make its JW Lees Lancashire League debut at Accrington when the 2021 season begins on Sunday April 18th. Accrington's first derby is against Church at The Property Shop Arena on Sunday May 2nd. The following Sunday Norden are the visitors in the first round of the Worsley Cup. The 2020 competition begins on Friday May 28th with a visit to Colne. Home games against Rishton (June 4th) and Clitheroe (June 18th) are sandwiched in between visits to Lowerhouse (June 11th) and Darwen (June 25). The season ends on Sunday September 12th with a visit to Littleborough.

Tuesday November 10th
Accrington will travel to Todmorden on Saturday April 17th for a pre-season friendly. The seconds will host Todmorden in the reverse fixture.

The club is pleased to announce the signing of Sri Lankan Sammu Ashan as professional for the 2021 season. [More]

Accrington have been drawn at home to Norden in the first round of the 2021 Worsley Cup. The seconds will travel to Stag Park in the reverse fixture. [Full Draw

Saturday September 19th
Alice Clarke made her debut for Thunder in the final Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Group game, scoring 1 batting at three in the defeat against Northern Diamonds at Headingley. Skipper Alex Hartley and Lowerhouse's Liberty Heap picked up a wicket apiece but Diamonds won by 6 wickets chasing Thunder's 143 all out.

Friday September 4th
Alice Clarke has been named in Thunder's squad of 13 along with Lowerhouse's Liberty Heap to take on Central Sparks in the North Group of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy at Blackfinch New Road on Saturday.

Wednesday September 2nd
The seconds travel to Clitheroe on Sunday in the JW Lees Lancashire League President's Junior Cup semi final. Matt Taylor and Toc Hussain replace Afra Malik and Sajjad Rauf, who is 12th man, from the team that beat Enfield last Sunday. Antonio Lo-Giudice is rewarded for his five wicket haul in that match with a place in the first team to face Rawtenstall in a friendly at the Property Shop Arena on Saturday. Len Dewhurst, Connor Tattersall and Jordan Marsden are also called up. Riley Armstrong will keep wicket. [Teams]

Tonight's T20 friendly against Colne has been called off due to the weather.

Tuesday August 25th
Matt Wilson returns for Accrington's final President's Cup Group 2 match at Enfield on Sunday. The veteran replaces Alice Clarke in the team. The seconds face leaders Enfield at the Property Shop Arena with a place in the semi finals at stake. On Friday Accrington entertain Colne in a T20 friendly. The match will start at 5.45pm.

Friday August 21st
Accrington's Alice Clarke is one of three players from Lancashire League clubs to be included have been included in Lancashire Thunder's 15 strong squad to play in the Rachel Heyhoe Flint Trophy along with Lowerhouse's Liberty Heap join Clitheroe's World Cup winner Alex Hartley in the squad to face Central Sparks, Lightning and Northern Diamonds in the competition.

Tuesday August 18th

Alice Clarke will make history as the first woman to represent the club at first team level when she makes her debut as wicketkeeper in Sunday's home game against Rishton in the President's Cup in place of Matt Wilson in an otherwise unchanged team. Alice currently averages 24.7 from three innings in the seconds. Accrington name an unchanged team for Friday's final Hyndburn T20 Group game against Church at the Property Shop Arena. [Teams]

Tuesday August 11th
Accrington travel to Rishton in the penultimate round of Hyndburn T20 Competition fixtures on Friday. On Sunday Accrington are also on the road to Church in the President's Cup. Both clubs have won their two opening games, standing level on 12 points. Accrington name an unchanged team for both days. [Teams]

Tuesday August 4th
A double header weekend against Great Harwood starts on Friday at The Cliffe with a Hyndburn T20 Competition game. On Sunday Accrington play host in the Presidents Cup Group 2 fixture. Ross Brown comes in to the team in place of Matt Jones. [Teams]

Wednesday July 29th
Accrington play their first match in the inaugural Hyndburn T20 Competition when they host Enfield on Friday. The team will travel to East Lancs on Sunday for the opening match in the President's Cup. The matches are 40 overs a-side. Accrington is in Group 2 along with the four other Hyndburn based clubs and Sunday's opponents. The group winners will contest the semi finals on Sunday 6th September with the final to take place the following Sunday. [Teams]

Accrington will host Colne in a T20 friendly on Friday August 28th.

Friday July 24th
Accrington were beaten by Colne at The Horsfield in a 2020 friendly. Accrington made 91 with Jon Hayhurst hitting 28 and Jimmy Hayhurst making 17. Danny Armstrong took 2-7 and Tom Walker 2-12 but Colne got home by 3 wickets.

Tuesday July 21st
The cricket season starts this Sunday at the club with The Chairman's Challenge match. Starting at 1pm a mixed 1sts and 2nds play an inter club match. The bar will be open following Covid guidelines.

Monday July 20th
Accrington will travel to Colne on Friday for a T20 friendly. The match will start at 6.15pm. [Team]

Thursday July 16th
The funeral cortege of Russ Cuddihy will pause at the entrance of the club on Monday on its way to Accrington Crematorium for people who may wish to pay their respects but are not going to the service. [More]

Wednesday July 15th
Accrington's friendly at Barnoldswick on Saturday has been cancelled after the ECB have directed that all friendlies in the Lancashire area must be called off for the next four weekends.

Tuesday July 14th
Accrington will compete in the inaugural Hyndburn T20 Competition which will be played on Friday evenings during July and August with the final taking place on Bank Holiday Monday August 31st. After sitting out the opening Friday Accrington host Enfield on July 31st. The club travel to Great Harwood on August 7th and Rishton on August 14th before entertaining Church in the final group game on August 21st. Friday games will start at 6pm. Admission will be free to all games.

Saturday July 11th
Former Accrington captain Russ Cuddihy has passed away at the age of 80. [More]

Accrington will travel to Barnoldswick next Saturday July 18th to play a 40 overs a-side friendly starting at 1pm. There will be no Bar or Tea Room so spectators will have to take their own food and drinks. Accrington is also looking for a home friendly on Sunday July 26th. Tuesday May 26th
Former Accrington player Phil Woods has passed away. Phil made his 3rd team debut in 1965, playing eight times in the senior side, including the 1974 Worsley Cup semi final at Church and once in the championship side a year later when he helped Ian Birtwistle win the match at Haslingden with an unbeaten 14. Deepest condolences to Phil's family.

Saturday April 25th
The 1970 season was one of the best in the history of the club. Accrington won the Worsley Cup for the second time and were in with a chance of winning a first ever league and cup double until the last match of the season. Professional Bruce Francis hit over 1,000 runs in great style, his opening Geoff Hayhurst passed 500 runs and Alan Worsick and skipper Eddie Robinson took an incredible 158 wickets between them. A 10 wicket win at Colne got the campaign underway in style.

Accrington secured their first victory of the season at Burnley this weekend in 1990.

Sunday April 18th
This season we will be looking back at 1990 and 1970. We start with a look back at this week in 1990. Going in to the game as second favourites for the title, the season began with a surprise home defeat by Colne.

In line with ECB guidelines there will be no cricket related activity at the club until further notice due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Tuesday March 10th

The funeral of Harry Stevenson will take place on Friday 20th March at 1pm at Accrington Crematorium. Everyone is then invited afterwards to the Peel Park to celebrate Harry's life.

The club is saddened to report the passing of former Club President Harry Stevenson after a short illness. [More]

Wednesday February 26th
Tonight's Senior Nets at St Christopher's have been cancelled due to the school being closed as a precautionary measure againt the coronavirus after some pupils returning from a trip to Pila in the Italian Alps complained of feeling unwell.

Colwyn Bay have pulled out of the pre-season friendly and been replaced by Longridge on Saturday April 4th.

Friday January 17th
Accrington have signed up and coming South African fast bowling all rounder Bailey Aarons as professional for the 2020 season. [More]

Thursday January 16th
Accrington have added a second friendly at Stand on Saturday April 11th. Stand is also hosting a Beer Festival on the weekend in question.

Thursday January 2nd
Accrington is looking for an away friendly on April 11th or 12th. Please contact Jimmy Hayhurst if you are interested.
