Toby and Crabbers Return The club is delighted to announce the return of two former players in Stuart Crabtree and Toby Bulcock, subject to league approval. Stuart returns to the club where he started his cricketing career as a junior alongside current 1st XI captain Graeme Sneddon. He was a member of the Championship winning sides of 2008, 2009 and 2013 and has made over 300 appearances for the club. Alongside Stuart and Graeme, Toby was a member of the double winning side of 2008, the only time an Accrington side have won the double. Aged just 17 Toby was man of the match in the final against Todmorden scoring 39* and taking 4 vital wickets. 1st XI Captain Graeme Sneddon said “I am delighted to welcome back to Accrington two good friends of mine and players of Stuart and Toby’s quality. "Having seen the club struggle for players last year we had a few chats with Toby who has fond memories of playing with us, and he has decided he wants to come back and enjoy playing cricket with a few of his mates at Accrington, without the added pressure of being a professional, and hopefully help us push for promotion back to the top Division. "As people know myself and Stuart have known each other since we were in nappies. "Stuart was always Accrington at heart and ever since he told me he was leaving Whalley I have been in his ear to come back and play with me, and for me, and he always said when the time is right he would be back. "Accrington has always been our club, we started playing cricket at Accrington together and I look forward to finishing playing cricket at Accrington together”. Chairman Len Dewhurst added “It’s with great pleasure that we welcome back Stuart and Toby into the Accrington CC family again. "In their hearts they never really left the club and were always going to come back and help with the journey when the time was right. "With their experience they will be fundamental, alongside our new pro Sammu, in driving the improvement already started by the captains and players both on and off the field. "We have a brilliant group of players at the club who all performed fantastically last season under difficult circumstances, and the addition of Stuart and Toby will hopefully see us pushing for those top two spots”.
