Update To Members On behalf of the Management Committee I wanted to share an update on the club’s current position regarding Coronavirus. First and foremost we hope all members, players, sponsors and their families are staying safe and observing the Government instructions. As a club we are following the Government and ECB guidance which means there is no recreational cricket at present and the bar is closed. However ground maintenance is still allowed, under strict government and Public Health guidelines. Locally the Lancashire League has suspended all cricket, probably until at least the first weekend in July, although this will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. They have also announced that when cricket does start again there will be no Championship competed for in 2020, nor will there be any promotion / relegation between Divisions and neither will there be a Worsley Cup or 2nd XI Cup Competition. The requirement for clubs to play a Professional in all games has also been removed. The Club is exploring avenues of Government and ECB relief available and has taken steps to reduce outgoings as much as possible. In addition our suppliers have been very helpful in allowing us to delay payments where possible. However some costs, mainly utilities and insurance, continue to be incurred in addition to expenses relating to the start of the season committed before the postponement was announced. As there is very little income coming into the Club at present to cover these costs, we would ask that any members or players who feel able to do so, pay their subscriptions for the season. Obviously we are not in a position to distribute the membership books during the lockdown and the fixture lists included will not be accurate. As a reminder the rates are: Players £70, Patron £42, Vice President £38, Match Member £36, Senior Citizen £23, Junior (16-18) £35, Junior (U16) £25. We appreciate that not everyone will be in a position to pay in full under the current circumstances, but anything you can pay would be greatly appreciated. Also cheques can be sent to Steve Davies, 8 Whitewell Road, Accrington, BB5 6DA Let’s hope for some cricket later in the summer, in the meantime stay safe and if the club can help anyone in these difficult times please contact myself on the number above Thank you for your ongoing support Mark Taylor
