Update For Players and Members Firstly I hope all our players, members, sponsors and their families are managing to stay safe I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our members who have been able to pay their memberships for this season and also all those former players and members who have offered to pay a membership this year to help the club through these difficult times, it is very much appreciated. We are continuing to manage our cashflow very carefully and have received funding from local government. If there are any other players or members who feel they are able to pay some or all of their membership please contact Mark Taylor on 07949 610512 (marktaylor197@sky.com) In the latest Government guidance they have said that some professional team sports may be allowed to take part behind closed doors from the beginning of June. What this means for local amateur sport is still a big unknown at this stage and Lancashire League cricket is still suspended until at least the first weekend of July. As you may have seen the Government has allowed certain sports such as golf and tennis to restart from today, Wednesday 13th May, under strict conditions including limiting participation to members of the same household, and restricting participation for an individual to a maximum of one other person outside their household. Both those sports governing bodies have issued detailed guidance on what is and is not permitted. At present the ECB have not changed their guidance which says there should be no recreational cricket or net practice, therefore the club's ground and net facilities are still currently closed to all players. They are however in discussions with Government and are hopeful of issuing further updates and a support plan for clubs towards the end of the week. They appreciate that most players will be desperate to return to net practice but they need a little more time to plan the best way to deliver the opportunity to return safely. Once we have more information then the club will review the guidelines and will hopefully be able to put a policy in place that ensures the safety and well being of all of our players. Any updates will be published on our website In the meantime please stay safe and continue to observe the social distancing recommendations and hopefully we will have some more news soon Thank you for your ongoing support.
