Sportsman's
Dinner
Graham Lloyd has agreed to speak at the club's Sportsmans Dinner which
will be held in the clubhouse on Friday 16th August beginning at 7.30pm.
The comedian will be Bobby Bender. Tickets will be limited to just 70.
Chairman
Peter Barratt said:"Don't be late in getting your tickets. Let's
make this a real moneyspinner which is needed for development projects."
Family
Fun Day
The annual Family Fun Day will be on Bank Holiday Monday August 26th.
Ideas for games, tombola prizes and volunteers to help on the day are
urgently needed. Please contact Rod Kenyon on 387864. An early attraction
promises to be an inter league Under 11s match between the Lancashire
League and the Ribblesdale League.
Professional
Professional Andre Seymore will be staying at Accrington until the end
of the season. Andre had been due to go home to prepare for the South
African season at the end of August, but he has decided to stay on and
finish the season at Accrington. Andre's wife has arrived in town this

New Treasurer
The Cricket Section has a new Treasurer. The recently married Karen Stephenson
has taken over from Alven Burrows who was due to stand down in September.

The Club sends its deepest sympathies to Roy Heap and family at this sad
time.
Sponsorship
The new track suits sponsored by Fraser Eagle Management Services are
now in production. There will be 25 sets for 1st and most 2nd eleven players.

Results
None of our sides are having much luck in the league but the cup has been
a different story. The seconds are through to the 2nd XI Cup Final for
the second time in three seasons and will play Ramsbottom at home on Saturday
August 3rd. Read Lenny's
match report on the club website. A karaoke has been booked for the
post match celebrations. The A Team are through to the semi final of the
Harry Wood Cup and will play Kashmir at Bullough Park on Sunday July 7th.
Performances
Tariq Hussain hit his maiden Lancashire League half century and went on
to score a magnificent unbeaten 70 in a great win at Burnley.
Paul Clifford also hit his maiden league half century for the club against
Ramsbottom.
JUNIOR
CRICKET
The Under 11s have so far won 1 and lost 3 matches. Reports of these matches
and a special Under
11s section can be found on the club website. All our junior sides
have suffered due to the weather. The Under 15s have won 5, lost 1 and
had 4 games abandoned and the Under 13s have won 4, lost 1 and had 1 abandoned.
Pool
competition
Details of a club Pool Competition open to all members will be advertised
on the noticeboard in the clubhouse shortly.
MERCHANDISE
Duncan Warburton is taking orders for cricket sweaters and shirts in club
colours. Club caps are also available at £8 each and Lancs League ties,
priced at £5 can also be obtained from Duncan. New club pens are also
available for only 50 pence.
