A maiden unbeaten Lancashire League half century by Tariq Hussain and 63 from professional Andre Seymore took Accrington to an 8 wicket win over Burnley at Turf Moor.
Tariq hit an unbeaten 70, including seven fours and three sixes, in a 2nd wicket stand of 115 with Andre who hit seven fours in his third league half century.
Burnley won the toss and batted in far from ideal conditions due to Friday's torrential downpour. Steve Juliff and Jimmy Hayhurst opened the bowling but Jimmy came off after three overs after finding problems with the footholds. Tariq came on and bowled right through to the end of the innings, picking up 3-58 from 17 overs. Damian Clarke took 2-32 from 10 overs and Juliff 0-46 from 11 overs. Two brilliant catches were the highlight of Accrington's fielding. Jimmy Hayhurst took a superb falling catch above his head at long on to dismiss Ian Whitehead and then Paul Clifford took a great running catch at mid wicket to dismiss Andy McLeod, both off Tariq. Professional Pierre Joubert was Burnley's top scorer with an unbeaten 55 and Ben Law made 51 in the home sides 151-6.
The win takes Accrington off the bottom for the first time this season.
