Bacup won a hard fought low scoring encounter against Accrington at Lanehead by 3 wickets. Ben Lord (2-14) removed Stuart Crabtree and Toby Bulcock with the first two balls of the match to put Bacup in charge. Professional Jacob Clarke joined Ben Gorton to put on 45 for the 3rd wicket. Charlie Gansler broke the stand by having Gorton caught by Lord for 28. Skipper Graeme Sneddon (10) holed out to Jake Sunderland off sub professional Lesiba Ngoepe at 65. Without addition George Sumner picked up his first Lancashire League wicket when he bowled Clarke for 24. Wickets then fell on a regular basis with Ngoepe picking up Rick Williams (3), Jon Hayhurst (6), Riley Armstrong (3) and Matt Taylor (2) to finish with 5-25 from 13.5. Sumner added the wicket of Jimmy Hayhurst (1) who holed out to Lawrence Adlum at mid on. Bulcock removed skipper Simon Newbitt (4) and Matt Collinge (0) to have Bacup struggling on 13-2 but Adlum and Ngoepe put on 52 for the 3rd wicket before Adlum fell to Bulcock for 12. Jimmy Hayhurst (3-10) then sent back Ngoepe (38) without addition and Luke Donovan (1) at 67. Jack Bradford was run out at the same score and Hayhurst had Chris Gansler (0) caught by Taylor as 5 wickets fell for the addition of just 2 runs. Lord (16 not out) and Charlie Gansler (7 not out) held firm with an unbroken 8th wicket stand of 25 to secure maximum points for Bacup.
