A fine all round team performance saw Accrington to a first ever Lancashire League win over Clitheroe at The Property Shop Arena. Keiren Grimshaw took a career best 5-48 and professional Karl Brown 3-27 to help dismiss Clitheroe for 129. Tom Pettini top scored with 66 in Accrington's 200-6. The opener hit six fours during his 134 ball innings which was his first Lancashire League half century. Six runs later Sharp had Accrington professional Brown brilliantly stumped by Kyle O'Connor without scoring. Grimshaw put on 70 with Pettini, hitting three fours in making 31 before falling to Charlie Dewhurst. Pettini was run out at 165 but Jacob Clarke hit four fours and a six in making an unbeaten 48 from 47 balls, adding an unbroken 27 with Jon Hayhurst (8 not out) after skipper Ross Brown became the second run out victim of the innings at 173. Clarke (2-24) then made his mark with the ball sending back opener Harry Lang (3) and Sam Mulligan (2). Karl Brown cleaned up opener O'Connor for 18 at 56 and then trapped professional Suraj Randiv (16) at 65. Grimshaw broke a 5th wicket stand of 30 by clean bowling Dewhurst for 17.
