Accrington's season got off to a fine start at The Horsfield with a 98 run win over Colne. Opener Ramiz Hussain top scored with 38 in Accrington's 181 all out. Keiren Grimshaw (27), new professional Janith Liyanage (21), Jacob Clarke (17), Jon Hayhurst (14), Sam Bancroft (13), Andy Greenwood (11) and skipper Ross Brown (10) all chipped in with Johnathan Nation taking 3-26 and Andy Hakin 3-39 for Colne. Clarke then took 4-47, including the wicket of home professional James Price without scoring, to help dismiss Colne for 83. Alec Jakeman also took 3-6 on his league debut and Liyanage 2-20. Chris Walton's 23 and Hakin's 15 were the only double figure scores for Colne who were bowled out in the 20th over.
