Outgoing champions Clitheroe clinched a place in the top division for next season by beating Accrington by 2 wickets at Chatburn Road. Professional Janith Liyanage top scored with 45 in Accrington's 224-8. Liyanage hit six fours and two sixes during his 77 ball innings. Marcus Sharp removed Jon Hayhurst (5) at 15. Sam Bancroft justified his promotion to open the innings with a career best knock of a 30 which included two fours and a straight six off Sam Halstead. Sub professional Karl Brown knocked back Bancroft's off stump to end a 42 run stand with Liyanage. Keiren Grimshaw then added 62 with his professional who fell to Brown at 119. Grimshaw became Brown's (3-85 from 14 overs) third wicket after making 35. Eli Smith (2-25) dismissed Ramiz Hussain (18) and Jacob Clarke (39) after the pair had added 49 for the 5th wicket. Skipper Ross Brown made an unbeaten 18 from 17 balls at the end of the innings. Clarke removed Sam Mulligan without scoring with just a single on the board and Liyanage sent back Charlie Dewhurst (22) at 48. Skipper Jack Dewhurst (43) and Brown doubled the score when Dewhurst fell to his opposite number Brown (3-46). Clarke removed Peter Dibb and Thomas Lord for 3 apiece to have Clitheroe in trouble at 112-5. Farooq Butt added a league best 30 with Brown who found another ally in Smith (11) who added 43 with the Lancashire man for the 7th wicket before falling to Brown. The Accrington skipper trapped Halstead in front with 3 needed for victory but Brown sealed the points in Grimshaw's next over to finish on a league best unbeaten 94. Brown hit six fours and three sixes from the 113 balls that he faced.
