Accrington began life in Division B with an 80 run win over local rivals at Church at Thorneyholme Road. Keiren Grimshaw top scored with an unbeaten 47 in Accrington's 162-8. Grimshaw hit five fours in his 79 ball innings. Graeme Sneddon was first to go for 20 at 32 and then skipper Simon Hanson (20) and professional Michael Erlank (38) put on 49 for the 2nd wicket. No other player made double figures but Jimmy Hayhurst held his end up for 44 balls in making an unbeaten 9 to help Grimshaw add a vital unbroken 40 for the 9th wicket. Church professional Zain Abbas took 4-33 and Hassan Fazal 3-36. Jacob Clarke (2-24) removed Josh Scully (2) and Hayhurst (3-12) sent back both skipper Levi Wolfenden and the dangerous Francis Kinsella without scoring to have Church 13-3. Zain Abbas made 21, but he was stumped by Sam Bancroft who had four victims in the innings, off Clarke. Hayhurst then removed Craig Fergusson (2) and Erlank ended the innings of Joel Gaskill (2) and Fazal (0). Bilal Abbas (19 not out) and Jack Gaskill (22) put on 29 before Erlank (4-27) trapped the spinner in front. Raheem Kasser had last man Sam Tucker (0) stumped by Bancroft to claim his first senior victim and claim the 12 points in the 31st over.
