Accrington's 2020 game with Nelson at Thorneyholme Road was abandoned after the visitors had made 118-7 in their innings. Jimmy Hayhurst took 3-18, Jacob Clarke 2-19 and David Ormerod 1-21 for Accrington. Simon Hanson struck a crucial blow by removing the prolific Nelson professional Ryan Bailey before a run had been scored but Billy Jamil (23) and David Crotty (26) put on 50 for the 2nd wicket. Khurram Nazir made 15 and the comebacking veteran Marcus Phelan an unbeaten 26 in his first 2020 innings for 10 years.
