Accy fight back
Nasser Hussain helped Accrington fight back after the loss of four quick wickets following the controversial dismissal of professional Nishit Shetty

Ramsbottom notched up their first league win of the season at Thorneyholme Road, beating Accrington by 2 wickets. Accrington made 142-9 after being 86-2 at the halfway point. The introduction of Chris Eardley sparked a change in the game when the medium pacer controversially caught and bowled the home sides professional Nishit Shetty for 38. Skipper Matt Wilson was then clean bowled for 23 after hitting five impressive boundaries in a 3rd wicket stand of 51 with Shetty. Sunil Joshi then strangled one end with just 5 runs coming from his final 12 overs to finish with 3-43 from an unbroken 25 over spell. Eardley finished with 4-43 as the home sides batsmen struggled. David Ormerod struck back immediately for Accrington removing Keith Webb before a run had been posted and he then removed Alex (9) and David Bell (26) as Ramsbottom stumbled to 61-5. Joshi replied with a half century, hitting 52 before falling leg before to Shetty, who picked up 3-48. Ormerod then removed Mark Dentith (11) and Simon Read (10), to pick up his first 5 wicket haul for the club at a cost of 61 runs, but Eardley came in at 130-8 and hit the medium pacer for three successive boundaries to wrap up a 2 wicket win.
