Weekend teams

This season we have a double Looking Back Feature going back to 1993 when Neil Johnson was professional and also to 2013 when the club won the Lancashire League title for the last time with Ashar Zaidi as professional.

In 1993 Accrington had a 23 run win over Worsley Cup finalists Bacup in a low scoring game at Lanehead. Professional Neil Johnson proved to be the match winner, top scoring with 46 and then taking 5-51 on Sunday August 1st.

In 2013 League leaders Accrington extended their club record number of successive home wins to ten with a 93 run win over Bacup on Saturday July 27th. With just seven matches to play Accrington need 38 points to clinch an eighth Lancashire League title after a 1 run win at Nelson on Sunday July 28th.
