Weekend Preview
Wednesday April 19th 2023

Joint Division 2 leaders Accrington welcome East Lancs to The Property Shop Arena for their first home match of the 2023 season.

Graeme Sneddon's men enjoyed a nail-biting 11 run win in a low scoring match at Nelson on the opening day. Accrington make one change with Matt Taylor replacing Damian Clarke.

East Lancs had a blank day when their match against Middleton was called off. Phill Aspinall replaces Paul Turner in the East Lancs team.

The seconds travel to East Lancs in the reverse fixture.

The thirds should also have played East Lancs on Saturday but the match has been put back to Saturday May 20th.

Weekend teams

This season we have a double Looking Back Feature going back to 1993 when Neil Johnson was professional and also to 2013 when the club won the Lancashire League title for the last time.

The 1993 season began in fine style with a 1 wicket win over champions Ramsbottom on Saturday April 24th.

The opening weekend of 2013 was a double header beginning with a high ascoring win in The Ron Singleton Colne Trophy at Lowerhouse on Saturday followed by an opening day league win over Haslingden on Sunday April 21st.
