Accrington v Haslingden
Accrington's David Ormerod took his 400th league wicket for the club in his sides 29 run win over Haslingden at Thorneyholme Road. The medium pacer took 5-34 with professional Ashar Zaidi (5-44) claiming the other wickets to dismiss the visitors for 84. Accrington struggled to 113-5 in 27 overs after several interruptions. Openers Simon Hanson (31) and Andy Greenwood (17) put on 39 with Jordan Shannon removing the latter to pick up his first wicket since moving from Ramsbottom. Zaidi made 39 before falling to sub professional Stephen Parry (3-18) who also accounted for skipper Graham Lloyd, reverse sweeping for 1 and Aijaz Shah (8). Ormerod picked up Haslingden skipper Graham Knowles with the first ball of the innings and went on to remove Lee Ingham (0). Parry (16), Muneeb Ahmed (0) and Alex Marcroft (7) who became victim number 400. James English made 10 but the only worthwhile stand of the innings was between Parry and the injured Mo Imtiaz, both of whom were stumped by Matt Wilson after adding 45 for the 4th wicket. Wilson's stumping of Parry was his 100th for the club in league matches, a feat no other Accrington wicketkeeper has accomplished. Zaidi removed last man Jack Sudworth to wrap up the match with 1 over remaining. |
