Weekend Preview
The first league and cup double header takes place at the weekend. Adam Bracewell's men have two wins from three games to date whilst Accrington notched a first win of the season last Sunday with stand-in skipper Toby Bulcock recording the best bowling figures of the season 7-24 to roll Colne over for just 50. Skipper Graeme Sneddon returns to the team along with Jimmy Hayhurst in place of Sam Heap and Simon Hanson. Cameron Clarke and Nihaal Basharat replace Tiarnan Hamill and Anthony Steele in the Enfield team. No news on the sub pro yet. The Worsley Cup begins on Sunday with Accrington facing Darwen in the competition for the first time. Darwen have an impressive record in the competition with two final wins in the four campaigns since joining the league in 2017. Accrington make two changes with Connor Tattersall and Matt Taylor replacing Jimmy Hayhurst and Toc Hussain. Darwen make four changes with three players making their senior debuts - Abdur Rehman, Jordan Shaw and Kyle Nield along with Sam Painter in place of Neil and John Cordingley, Jordan Clarke and Kamran Anwar. The seconds host Todmorden on Saturday still looking for a first win of the season. On Sunday the seconds welcome Darwen to The Property Shop Arena in the Junior Cup 1st Round. Len Dewhurst leads the team on both days. This season's Looking Back Feature takes us back to 1992 when Dipak Patel was professional.
