Performances

James Hayhurst
Well done to Jimmy Hayhurst for career best performances last weekend - 5-50 against East Lancs and 29 not out at Rishton. Maiden half centuries for Andy Thompson in the thirds and Zed Hussain in the A Team in the recent weeks. Sam Heap hit an excellent 92 at Ramsbottom in the thirds and Simon Hanson took 3-31 on his debut. Len Dewhurst made Andy Payne his 50th Lancashire League wicket.

Re-arranged matches
There have been some changes to the 3rd XI fixtures. On Saturday July 19th we are at Rishton. On Saturday August 16th we entertain Haslingden, Monday August 25th we travel to Burnley, Saturday August 30th we are at Church and finally on Saturday September 6th we are at Rawtenstall.

Situations Vacant
The club needs a new gateman for home Lancashire League matches. Help on the committee is also needed.

Functions
Elvis will be in the clubhouse on Saturday July 26th. Please come along if you can. All the club sponsors have been invited to the evening. The Sports Quiz has been rearranged for Thursday August 7th. The Sportsman's Dinner has also been put back.

Ball Sponsorship
This year we are reintroducing Ball Sponsorship. Any individuals or companies interested should contact Nigel Stockley 01254 392923. Other sponsorship packages are available by contacting Rod Kenyon. Please make every effort to support all Club sponsors whenever possible.

Development
The Clubhouse extension project is still ongoing. Major hold up is the lack of a reasonable quote within the club's budget.

Taking on the rugby club
Our famous Accrington Select XI (or so) will be making their annual appearance on Friday August 29th against our friends from the Rugby Club.

The Bionic Men
Good luck to Keith Hindley and Ronnie Schofield, who are due to have various parts replaced shortly.

Family Fun Day
This year's August Bank Holiday Monday Extravaganza will hopefully feature a 20/20 cricket competition. Ideas and help on the day are also high on the agenda.
