Accrington Under 11s 2006

In the last two fixtures of the Under 11 Season, Accrington won 1 and lost 1. In the final game we were away to Nelson who needed a win to draw level at the top with Lowerhouse.  Nelson batted first on a very lively wicket and reached 222 for the loss of 7 wickets. Jacob Clarke took 3 wickets and Hamayoon and Daniel Armstrong 2 each with Connor Tattersall bowling 2 maidens. In reply Accrington lost 4 wickets and the last pair (Jacob and Brad) went in needing 14 to win, some good running between the wickets mean't that we needed 5 from the last over, 4 singles followed and 1 was required to tie the game with Brad on strike and the field all in on the 1. Brad flicked the ball through mid-wicket for 4 to end the season on a high and end Nelsons league title hopes.
