New season new rules Lenny loses the toss under the watch full eye of the umpires, Rishton decide to bat, opening bowlers toiled with no wkts to show even though there where a few half chances, bowling change at pavilion end still no wkts change at the Blackburn rd end first wkt falls at 71 ct Gul bowled R Hussain then a smart run out by J Hayhurst leaves the score on 99 with 25 over’s to go, R Hussain picks up his second wkt bowling their opening bat 51 in the 31 st over, scores moved on to 150 lenny gets his first wkt bowled. 9 overs to go, ex Accrington player W Roberts is lennys 2 nd victim smartly caught by Sam Tattersall standing up.lennys on a role ct A Greenwood score on 196 for 6 with 3 over’s to go M Schofield picks up his first wkt bowled score 202 for 7 with his last bowl of the over , lenny picks up his fourth and last 211 for 8 M Schofield picks up the last two batsmen with his first two balls both bowled which gave him a Hat trick the second one in two weeks against Rishton which Gul Khan performed in the friendly before the season started.

Accrington to chase 212 to win opening pair J Hayhurst and A Greenwood lose the first wkt early on Andrew caught leg side by keeper for 4, Rambo soon followed falling for 1. M Schofield came to the wicket and some good shots followed before Jonny was out for 38 who looked like no one could get him out. JJ went first ball. Ian stayed in for a while scoring one Matty was 6 th out scoring 28 with the total on 79 at the half way stage. Toc soon followed only scoring one. Score now 80 for 7 with young Bryn Hargreaves and Sam Tattersall who batted well together facing all the four ex first team bowlers who tried their best to remove them from the wkt. When Sam was run out they had put on 45 runs making Accrington total look worthwhile 125 for 8 Bryn was out shortly after LBW at 133 which meant Gul Khan and captain Lenny where the last pair but an onslaught from Gul and steadfast defence by Lenny allowed Accrington’s total creep up to the position they could get points. Gul scored 33 not out and Lenny 3 not out so Accrington 176 for 9 claim 2 points.
