Division 2 runners Middleton up concluded a successful season by beating Accrington by 145 runs at Towncroft. Rehan Udwadia hit an unbeaten 58 in Middleton's 243-6. Udwadia hit one boundary in his 75 ball innings. Professional James Price (52, including four fours) put on 79 with skipper Andy Gregoriou (55, including seven fours) after Accrington professional Jacob Clarke (2-72 from 15 overs) had removed Keelan Shipley with the first ball of the match and Mark Goddard (0) at 6. Udwadia and Price then put on 78 for the 3rd wicket. Rhys Tierney (33) also added 52 for the 5th wicket with Udwadia. Fifteen year-old George Mills (2-44) picked up his first senior wickets for Accrington, including the prized wicket of Price. Rhys then took 5-21 and Tom Rutter picked up 2-18 to bowl Accrington out for 98. Kian Farnworth made 28 and Ben Gorton 18 for Accrington who finish in next to bottom place having lost 6 points for disciplinary offences during the week.
