East Lancs v Accrington
A 61 run win over Accrington at Alexandra Meadows takes East Lancs up to third place in the Division 2 table. Professional Zahid Mansoor hit an unbeaten 101 in East Lancs 245-4. Mansoor hit thirteen fours and two sixes during his 70 ball knock, passing 500 runs for the season with his maiden Lancashire League century. Skipper James Westhead (5) was first to go bowled by Asad Khan at 30. Joe Bolton (34) was caught by Ben Gorton off Matt Taylor at 79 and nine runs later Niall Boyle (20) was run out. Taylor then trapped John Turner (0) in front second ball without addition. Mansoor and Eli Smith then put on an unbroken 157 for the 5th wicket with Smith hitting six fours and a six in making an unbeaten 50. Chasing a revised target of 182 from 28 overs due to rain, Accrington lost professional Jacob Clarke (10) to Phill Aspinall at 22. Mansoor clean bowled Ben Gorton (26) at 61 and dished out the same treatment to skipper Graeme Sneddon (2) at 69. Mansoor had Mohammed Tayyib (12) caught by Boyle at 89. Joe Bolton had Ali Hasham caught behind by Westhead for a top score of 42 at 100. The last 5 wickets fell for just 20 runs with Mansoor finishing with a career best 5-34 to add to his century, sending back Yousuf Ali (0) and Khan (4). Joe Bolton cleaned up Jon Hayhurst (1) and Talha Patel trapped Taylor (9) in front leaving Alice Clarke unbeaten on 2 when the Accrington innings ended on 120 all out.
