A 66 run win over Accrington at Glebe Street takes Crompton to the top of the Division 2 table. A 2nd wicket stand of 263 between opener Aqib Zulfiqar and professional Mohammad Jamal took Crompton to 284-2 in a 44 overs a-side game. After opener Asif Fazal was run out for 2 with the score on 8, Jamal smashed nineteen fours and seven sixes in hitting 157 from 121 balls. Zulfiqar hit an unbeaten 106, his maiden Lancashire League century, including thirteen fours from 134 balls. Dennis Louis was also unbeaten on 12 after Jamal was caught by Ben Gorton off Matt Taylor at 271. Chasing a revised 291 from 44 overs, openers professional Jacob Clarke and Gorton put on 65 before Clarke was bowled by Jamie King for 34. Skipper Graeme Sneddon joined Gorton to add 60 before Gorton was trapped in front by Asif Fazal for 66, including thirteen fours. Sneddon was Asif's next victim at 154 for 27. Jon Hayhurst lasted three balls before being bowled by Asif without scoring. Matt Wilson made 13 before being bowled by Sam Rigby at 158. Andy Greenwood hit an unbeaten 32, losing Asad Khan (7) to Asif, Taylor (1) to Rigby, Fernando (5) to Asif and Ric Williams (13) to King. Damian Clarke (0 not out) helped Greenwood add an unbroken 17 when the innings ended on 224-9. Asif Fazal finished with 5-65.
