A valiant rear-guard action earned Accrington 3 batting points but Nelson left the Property Shop Arena with maximum points after a 25 run win. Nelson professional Usman Tariq top scored with 63 in his sides 200 all out. Toby Bulcock took 6-44 for Accrington. Tariq and Matt Pettinger put on 74 for the 1st wicket before the amateur was caught by sub professional Lesiba Ngoepe off Bulcock for 34. Neil Thompson (15) was trapped in front by Bulcock at 106. Ngoepe held a return catch off Ashir Imdad (9) at 123 and four runs later Tariq holed out to Rick Williams who took a good catch at long on. Tariq hit seven fours in his 80 ball innings. Chris Gildea (5) chipped Ngoepe to Bulcock at 135 but skipper Khurram Nazir and Mo Basat put on 41 for the 6th wicket. Kian Farnworth broke the stand with Ben Gorton taking the catch behind the wicket to remove Basat for 12. Nazir was next to go trapped in front by Connor Tattersall for 30 at 190. Four runs later Harry Waddington (13) fell to Bulcock who also accounted for Jason Waddington at the same score. Bulcock picked up his sixth wicket when he had Chris Brooker-Carey caught by Farnworth for 1 leaving Ali Asghar unbeaten on 7. Tariq (4-26) snapped up the wickets of Stuart Crabtree (2), Jon Hayhurst (14), Andy Greenwood (5) and Tattersall (1) with Nazir (2-34) bagging Gorton (2) and Ngoepe (5) to reduce Accrington to 50-6. Bulcock and skipper Graeme Sneddon took the score to 76 when Bulcock was trapped in front by Thompson for 11. Farnworth joined his skipper and this pair put on 58 before Sneddon fell to Broker-Carey for 37. Williams helped Farnworth put on 41 before falling to Thompson (2-56) for 20 at 175. Farnworth's battling knock was ended when he fell to Brooker-Carey (2-50) for a career best 47 without addition.
