Ben Gorton hit his maiden Lancashire League half century but East Lancs picked up maximum points for the second match running after a 69 run win over Accrington at Alexandra Meadows. Opener Joe Bolton hit his maiden Lancashire League century, hitting ten fours and a six in making 102 not out. Bolton lost Sohail Mohammed (6) to Kian Farnworth (2-58) at 9. Sub professional Harsha Rajapaksha hit 67 with five fours and three sixes in a 2nd wicket stand of 121 with Bolton. Bolton then added 32 with Paul Turner (16), 59 with John Turner (27) and an unbroken 18 with Niall Boyle (7 not out). Bolton (2-45) struck early to trap opener Stuart Crabtree (2) in front but Ben Gorton and Toby Bulcock put on 57 to put Accrington back in the game. Bulcock was cleaned up by Phill Aspinall for 39. The medium pacer then had professional Jacob Clarke stumped by James Westhead without scoring one run later. Bolton removed Simon Hanson (4) at 81 and Aspinall trapped Connor Tattersall (5) in front at 102. Skipper Graeme Sneddon made 15 before being stumped by Westhead off Eli Smith (3-21) at 126. Rajapaksha sent back Farnworth (1) at 135 and Riley Armstrong (1) three runs later. Gorton's fighting innings ended after the left hander had hit his maiden Lancashire League half century when Smith had him caught by Boyle for 58 from 96 balls with six fours. Smith finished off the Accrington innings by having George Mills caught by Rajapaksha for 4 to bowl the visitors out for 170. Rick Williams finished unbeaten on 15.
