Accrington v Colne
Stand-in skipper Toby Bulcock took a league best 7-24 to lead Accrington to a first win of the season at The Property Shop Arena. Professional Jacob Clarke also took 3-19 in Accrington's 84 run win over Colne. Ben Gorton again top scored with 66 in Accrington's 134 all out. Colne professional Geeth Kumara took 5-37 and Saud Ahmed picked up 2-14. Matt Clark had opener Stuart Crabtree (4) caught behind by Sam Tillotson with 20 on the board. Bulcock (12) was trapped in front by David Wallbank at 42. Clarke made 14 before falling to Matt Walker at 75. Simon Hanson (5) put on 17 with Gorton before Kumara struck for the first time. Riley Armstrong was trapped in front by Kumara without addition and two runs later Toc Hussain also fell to the Colne professional without scoring. Kian Farnworth (10) helped Gorton put on 27 before Kumara trapped him in front. Gorton's fine innings ended at 125 after he had hit six fours when he became Ahmed's first victim. Ahmed then removed Nathan Mashiter (1) on his Lancashire League debut at the same score. Sam Heap, in his first senior game since 2007, was last man to go bowled by Kumara for 7 leaving Rick Williams unbeaten on 2. Clarke and Bulcock bowled unchanged to roll Colne over for 50 in exactly 26 overs with not a single Colne player making double figures. Gorton also picked up three victims behind the wicket.
