Geeth Kumara hit an unbeaten 79 to lead Colne to a 5 wicket win over Accrington at The Horsfield. The Colne professional hit six fours and two sixes during his 113 ball innings. Andrew Greenwood hit his maiden Lancashire League half century in his 158th innings and his 185th match for Accrington. Greenwood made 53, including seven fours and a six in Accrington's 212-9. Openers professional Jacob Clarke and Ben Gorton put on 52 before Clarke holed out to Colne skipper Tom Bradshaw at long on for 27. Gorton and Greenwood added 41 before Gorton was caught and bowled by Kumara (4-60) for 39, including his 500th run of the season. Greenwood and Stuart Crabtree put on 60 for the 3rd wicket before Greenwood was bowled by Kenton Rhodes. Two runs later Crabtree holed out to Lewis Rimmer at mid wicket for 18. Skipper Graeme Sneddon was next to go at 178 caught behind by Sam Tillotson off Kumara for 18. Jon Hayhurst was stumped by Tilllotson off Kumara for 8 and Kian Farnworth was run out for 18 at 206. Two runs later Yousuf Ali was caught by Alex White in the deep off Saud Ahmed for 7. Mohammed Tayyib became Rhodes second victim in the final over caught by Adam Procter for 2. Matt Taylor (3 not out) and David Ormerod (1 not out) were still there when the innings closed on 212-9. Clarke removed Adam Procter (14) and Alex White (4) thanks to the diving Gorton behind the wicket. Farnworth sent back Rhodes (28) at 60 and David Spokes (19) at 97. Lewis Rimmer joined Kumara to add a match winning 86 for the 5th wicket. Rimmer was trapped in front by Tayyib for 34 at 183. Bradshaw (8 not out) joined Kumara to see Colne to victory in he 48th over.
