New skipper Sam Holt's first game in charge at Church saw his team leave The Property Shop Arena with a 4 wicket win over local rivals Accrington. Andrew Bentley took 6-61 to help bowl Accrington out for 160. Simon Hanson was first to go caught by Levi Wolfenden off Bentley for a ten ball duck with 16 on the board. Opener Stuart Crabtree hit five fours before being bowled by Kelan Florentine for 37 at 61. Ben Gorton followed at 88, bowled by Mo Bhada for 26. Eight runs later professional Jacob Clarke (14) also fell to Bhada (3-22) who also bowled skipper Graeme Sneddon (10) at 118. Bentley returned to remove Toby Bulcock (9) at 126, Kian Farnworth (1) at 128, Riley Armstrong (4) at 152, Rick Williams (0) at 155 and George Mills (3) at 160. Connor Tattersall was unbeaten on 21 for Accrington. Church openers Craig Fergusson (17) and Holt (38) put on 63 before Hanson (2-45) dismissed them both within 9 runs of each other. Clarke removed Wolfenden (28) at 138 and professional Sagar Trivedi (43) at 144. Bhada was run out without scoring at 148 and Clarke struck again to have Josh Scully caught by Armstrong for 14. Florentine (9 not out) and Nathan Young (0 not out) steered Church home in the 46th over.
