Accrington professional Lasith Lakshan turned in a match winning performance for the second match running helping his team to an 81 run win over Rishton at The Property Shop Arena. Lakshan took a league best 6-16 to help bowl Rishton out for 55. Toby Bulcock also picked up 3-15 from 10 overs. Skipper Brad Boddie took 3-27 and professional Sachithra Perera picked up 3-40 to help bowl Accrington out for 136. Lakshan was first to go trapped in front by Kian Farnworth for 8 with the score on 17. One run later Tom Walker was caught by Mark Leathert off Matthew Bradley without scoring. Opener Jonny Hayhurst and Andy Greenwood put on 70 before Perera bowled Hayhurst for 27. Bulcock (7) fell to Boddie at 108. Greenwood's fine innings of 41 was ended by Boddie at the same score. Skipper Graeme Sneddon (1) fell to Perera and Matt Wilson (2) was picked up by Boddie both at 112. Perera sent back Ric Williams (2) at 123 with Haris Masood picking up Jimmy Hayhurst (3) at 128 and Riley Armstrong (9) at 136 leaving last man Len Dewhurst unbeaten on 1. After openers Richie Fox (7) and Brad Juliff (16) had put on 19 Lakshan entered the attack, dismissing both openers. Miya Lunat was run out without scoring at 36. Lakshan then claimed the vital wicket of Boddie (9) at 41. One run later Bulcock picked up his first wicket by having Perera (1) caught behind by Wilson without addition. He also had Ash Patel (0) caught by Jon Hayhurst at the same total and four runs later Masood (2) was clean bowled. Lakshan polished off the tail by bowling Farnworth (0), Leathert (8) and Hickey (6) leaving Bradley unbeaten on 0.
