Alice Clarke became the first woman to play in a Lancashire League match when she made her debut for Accrington in the club's 3 wicket defeat to Rawtenstall in a low scoring match at The Property Shop Arena. Cameron Holder took a career best 7-28 and skipper Keith Roscoe took 2-25 to bowl Accrington out for 81. Professional Saliya Saman hit an unbeaten 33 to steer Rawtenstall home in the 32nd over as wickets tumbled around him. The Sri Lankan was the only man in double figures in the innings with his opposite number Lasith Lakshan taking a league best 5-32 and Tom Walker picking up 2-24. Ishaq Hussain made the breakthrough by trapping opener Jon Hayhurst in front without scoring with 4 extras on the board. Lakshan struggled for 49 balls in making 9 before becoming Holder's first victim at 42. Walker made 16 before chipping Holder to Roscoe at mid on 1 run later. Riley Armstrong (1) gave Holder a return catch at 43 to bring Alice Clarke in to join Andy Greenwood. Clarke got off the mark with a single off Holder. Clarke became Roscoe's 1818th Lancashire League victim when she was caught at short leg by Matt Kershaw for 6 with 66 on he board. Skipper Graeme Sneddon made 8 before giving Roscoe a return catch at 74. One run later George Mills (1) was cleaned up by Holder who also removed Jimmy Hayhurst (4), Antonio Lo-Giudice (0) and Len Dewhurst (0) at 81. Greenwood finished unbeaten on 11 from 58 balls. Walker hit back by removing Adil Hussain (7) who was caught behind by Clarke at 10. Lakshan clean bowled Kershaw (4) at 15, opener Musa Rehman (8) at 22, Abbaas Ahmad (3) at 26, Holder (4) at 39 and Imran Abid (8) at 59. Walker picked up Rizwan Shafiq (0) with a return catch at 30 but Saman stood firm to consign Accrington to an eighth successive defeat.
