An unbeaten century by professional Lasith Lakshan took Accrington to a 7 wicket win at Nelson to end an eight game losing run. Lakshan hit nine fours and a six in making a league best unbeaten 116 from 129 balls. After losing Jon Hayhurst (3) to Chris Brooker-Carey at 9, Tom Walker and Lakshan added 156 for the 2nd wicket. Walker hit 55, including five fours, before falling to Nelson skipper Neil Thompson. Andy Greenwood made 9 before being bowled by Thompson at 191. Toby Bulcock hit an unbeaten 16 to help his professional take Accrington over the line with 10 balls to spare. Nelson professional Usman Tariq top scored with 123 in his sides 225-6. Tariq hit thirteen fours and two sixes during his 141 ball knock. He added 62 for the 1st wicket with Chris Gildea who was stumped by Matt Wilson off Lakshan for 21. Thompson made 25 before being caught behind by Wilson off Jimmy Hayhurst (2-50) at 115. Skipper Lewis Bradley (4) was trapped in front by Hayhurst at 121. Khurrum Nazir (28) added 78 with Tariq before giving Walker a return catch at 199. Tariq's epic knock ended on double Nelson when he was bowled by Bulcock, who also had Ali Asghar stumped by Wilson off the final ball at 225. The match also featured the first father and daughter to play together in the Lancashire League Damian and Alice Clarke.
