Enfield also made up ground in the promotion stakes by beating Accrington by 7 wickets at The Property Shop Arena in one of only two Division 2 matches to be played on a cold damp Sunday. In a match that began as a 40 overs per side contest, Accrington were bowled out for 77 in the 29th over. Enfield sub professional Chirag Khuruna took 5-13 and Simon O'Loughlin picked up 2-14. Opener Jon Hayhurst was first to go bowled by Scott Wilkinson for a 20 ball duck at 8. Stuart Crabtree injured his knee whilst batting which looks set to keep him out of action for the rest of the season, retiring hurt on 1. This brought professional Lasith Lakshan and Tom Walker together. Liam Jackson clean up Walker (6) at 16. Khuruna entered the attack and picked up Toby Bulcock (2) with a return catch at 32. Lakshan fell to O'Loughlin for 26, including three fours and a six. The Sri Lankan was the only batsman in double figures with 16 extras being the next highest score. Khuruna then trapped skipper Graeme Sneddon (8) in front at 59, Matt Wilson (5) was run out 2 runs later and Crabtree returned to become victim number three for 5 at 65, caught behind by Tiarnan Hamill. O'Loughlin had Riley Armstrong (1) caught by Lewis Wright at 75 and 2 runs later Khuruna trapped Ric Williams and Jimmy Hayhurst both without scoring to wrap up the innings for 77. Andy Greenwood was unbeaten on 8. Bulcock removed Wright (3) at 9 and Jackson (4) at 39 but Jack Cook added 35 with Khuruna before falling to Lakshan for 37 with just 4 needed for victory. Khuruna hit an unbeaten 20 with skipper Adam Bracewell (4 not out) hitting the winning runs off the last ball of the 21st over.
