Division 2 leaders Church opened up a 9 point lead at the top after a 109 run win over local rivals Accrington at West End. Church skipper Levi Wolfenden top scored with 57 and Josh Scully hit an unbeaten 45 in Church's 239-6. Veteran David Ormerod came out of retirement to remove opener Sam Holt (19) at 41. Craig Fergusson (40) and Wolfenden added 50 before Tom Walker bowled the left hander. Kelan Florentine joined his captain to add 60 for the 3rd wicket. Accrington professional Lasith Lakshan broke the stand by trapping Wolfenden for 57, including six fours and a six. Ten runs later Toby Bulcock had Florentine stumped by Matt Wilson for 23. Professional Sagar Trivedi (19) gave Bulcock a return catch at 193 and Joel Gaskill (1) fell in the same manner to Lakshan at 212. Phill Gilrane (11 not out) and Scully added another 27 before the overs ran out. Wolfenden (3-21) and Trivedi soon had Accrington in trouble with Matt Wilson (9), Stuart Crabtree (6) and Jon Hayhurst (0) all sitting on the sidelines with just 16 on the board. Lakshan and Walker put on 75 before the Sri Lankan was trapped in front by Wolfenden for 32. Skipper Graeme Sneddon (7), Bulcock (0) and George Mils (1) all fell to Gilrane with Andy Greenwood (2) being run out. Walker went to his maiden senior half century before falling to Gilrane for 51, including five fours. Gilrane (5-35) wrapped up the innings by sending back last man Ormerod without scoring to bowl Accrington out for 130.
