Church v Accrington
Church won the battle of the top two at West End, coming out on top by 63 runs after rain reduced Accrington's target to 176 from 32 overs. Church piled up 227-6 with half centuries for skipper Levi Wolfenden and Stuart Crabtree. Tom Walker again struck early for Accrington sending back opener Sam Holt without scoring with just a single on the board. Ben Makin (3-54) removed Craig Fergusson (4) at 9 but Crabtree and Kelan Florentine put on 101 before Crabtree fell to Raheem Kasser for 62. The left hander hit four fours and two sixes from 69 balls. Florentine and Wolfenden then put on 56 before the former Cherry Tree man was bowled by Makin for 44. Makin then had Joel Gaskill held by Matt Jones without addition two balls later. Wolfenden hit four fours and three sixes in making 70 from 58 balls before falling to the Armstrong brothers, caught Riley bowled Danny. Josh Scully also made an unbeaten 18 for the home side. Wolfenden (2-12) soon struck with the ball sending back openers Matt Wilson (0) and Jon Hayhurst (5) with 7 on the board. Walker (13) and Andy Greenwood (18) fought back but when Ryan North (2-22) picked up Greenwood and Riley Armstrong (5) Accrington were back in trouble at 47-5. Danny Armstrong thumped 48 from 29 balls with three sixes and a couple of fours before being stumped by Gaskill off Nathan Young at 112. Kasser was unbeaten on 14 when the match ended.
