Accrington became the first ever club to be relegated from Division 1 after a 31 run home defeat by outgoing champions Walsden at The Property Shop Arena. Jake Hooson top scored with 51, including three fours in Walsden's 177-7, made in a rain reduced 41 overs. Hooson put on 64 for the 1st wicket with Matt Dawson (27). Accrington professional Karl Brown (2-22) broke the stand and then dismissed his opposite number Umesh Karunaratne (4) at 83. Jimmy Hayhurst (4-57) sent back skipper Nick Barker (9) at 104, Joe Gale (28) at 142, Elliott Gilford (8) at 148 and Stevie Barker (17) at 175 with Raheem Kasser accounting for Hooson at 124. Brown top scored with 53 from 71 balls, stand-in skipper Jacob Clarke also made 14 and Graham Lloyd 13 with Umesh taking 3-50, including his 50th wicket of the season, Martin Harlow 2-7, Stevie Barker 2-24 and Jamie Shackleton 2-37 to secure maximum points for Walsden who remain in third place but can no longer win the title.
