The first match to finish was at the Property Shop Arena where Rochdale beat Accrington by 9 wickets before 4.30pm. Chris Hartley took 4-11 and Steve Oddy 4-47 to dismiss Accrington for 79. Professional Ed Moore hit an unbeaten 36 from 40 balls, adding 48 with Declan Wilkinson who was caught by professional Karl Brown off skipper Ross Brown for 28. Andy Dawson hit three fours from the five balls that he faced in making an unbeaten 13. After 11 runs came from Oddy's first over, the medium pacer trapped opener Meeran Shah in front for 6 off the final ball. Skipper Michael Harling had Jon Hayhurst caught at slip by Oli Makin for 2 at 17 and Oddy struck a vital blow by removing Accrington professional Brown for 12 with a peach of a ball that removed the middle stump. Tom Pettini was trapped in front by Oddy for 1 at 32 and five runs later Tom Walker, batting at five, was cleaned up by Oddy for 8. Chris Hartley replaced his captain and promptly removed Sam Bancroft (5) at 48 and Matt Wilson (1) at 43. Skipper Brown and Ben Ross put on 21 before Ross was bowled by Makin for 2 leaving Hartley to polish Accrington off by sending back Brown, who hit three fours in top scoring with 20, at 71 and Jimmy Hayhurst for 7 at 79. Rochdale hit eleven boundaries in knocking off the runs in 16 overs.
