Burnley moved a step nearer the Lancashire League title after a 7 wicket win over bottom club Accrington at the Boohoo.com Turf Moor. A 6th wicket stand of 73 between professional Karl Brown and Graeme Sneddon rescued the innings after Accrington had collapsed to 23-5. Cole Hayman had opener Sam Bancroft caught behind by Chris Burton for 1 and Joe McCluskie removed the other opener Jon Hayhurst (0) in identical fashion. Bharat Tripathi (2-16) trapped Keiren Grimshaw in front at 13 and when the slow left armer bowled stand-in skipper Jacob Clarke without scoring Accrington were 22-4. Sub professional Neels Bergh (2-48) clean bowled Tom Walker also without scoring one run later bring Brown and Sneddon together. Sneddon hit seven fours and a six in making 41, his highest score of the season before being stumped by Burton off Chris Holt (3-38). Meeran Shah was next to go for 2, caught by Burnley skipper Dan Pickup off Holt. Jimmy Hayhurst made 11 before falling to Bergh. Brown's innings of 44 ended when he was bowled by Holt at 117. Three runs later Raheem Kasser was run out without scoring and Accrington were all out for 120. Toby Uttley-Muldoon was left unbeaten on 4. Clarke removed opener Matt Roberts (6) at 20 and Jimmy Hayhurst sent back Joey Marshall (21) at 60 and Chris Holt (16) at 80 to complete 400 Lancashire League wickets for Accrington, but Liam Bedford hit an unbeaten 44 to see Burnley over the line in 22 overs. Bergh also hit an unbeaten 22 in an unbroken 4th wicket stand of 41 with Bedford.
